Recently go back into collecting and I have what may be a stupid question about the SP Letter Marks cards..... Whats the deal with the letters? Are they actual letters off a game worn Jersey? I became even more confused when there were letters for players that didn't have that particular letter in their last name, but now see it could be part of the team name. Just want to make sure I know what I'm buying I, Checked some of my jerseys and not all the letter fit on a normal size card.

EXACTLY! As a game worn jersey collector.....Im glad they are not....I dont want game worn jerseys cut up for cards......but thats just me.

There is only NHL 1 team in Pa....the Pittsburgh Penguins. Then we have the Ahl team wbs penguins.....out east is some rec league team called the flyers. Nobody really pays attention to them though.

but as mention ones from SPGU/topps finest normally are manufacturer ones

SPGU actually does both - manufactured letters/numbers which are typically also signed. Plus they do actual game worn letters (By The Letter). These are numbered to the number of letters on the jersey (eg. GRETZKY #/d to 7). ITG also does game worn letters, theirs are usually # 1 of 1's.
