Kobe Bryant 00/01 TOPPS Chrom Hobby Masters Question.
Hi guys, my friend had this Kobe Bryant insert card from the 2000-2001 Topps chrome set, and we were wondering how one would be able to tell whether it was a refractor or not, as far as we can tell off the eBay listings, the cards look the same, however there is a very significant price difference in the sales (a little bit over a hundred lol)

We were just wondering if anyone with knowledge could shed some light on this subject, here's some scans...

thats not the refractor version sadly, the card would have a bright rainbow shinny finish to it and should be marked in small black font by the card number on back "refractor"

Thanks! I'll let him know, I don't think he'll be too let down or anything, it was more of an issue of just finding out what it was

As Aaron said, most refractors will say refractor on the back...usually under the numbering. However some dont. If you want to check either take it outside on a sunny day or hold it under a light and move the card back and forth, side to side. You will be able to see the clear difference between a refractor and a card that is not. Here are some cards that are either refractors or have the refractor look:
