How should I time this listing?
The New Orleans Hornets have the first pick in the draft, not a very bid market but pretty decent. Pretty much, the consensus #1 pick is going to be Anthony Davis, though the Hornets have stated that they are open to other possibilities (I myself like MKG better). Anyways, from my Past & Present breaks last Friday, I pulled the 2012-12 Panini Past & Present 2012 Draft Pick Redemption #1. I was going to list it today so that way it's over Saturday night when most people tend to be on eBay. But then I got to thinking, we're only 8 days away from the draft. How does the draft affect what sells on eBay? Normally, that player only has college and prospect (in terms of baseball and football) cards, no professional cards. I'm not sure if this card will eventually be considered a rookie or an xrc, but it will be their first. So I need your opinions, answer the poll and leave a comment if you wish.

RE: How should I time this listing?
I think Sunday is the day most people are buying on ebay. Not Saturday. I would have it end the Sunday after the draft. That gives time for all the people who get excited and "bid Happy" to place bids without giving to much time for the excitement to die down. If you do it draft night or the night after, you will get less traffic because sometime people are a little slow to react. And, its not like it will loose bids if it goes a couple more days. JMO but it is Sunday when you get the most traffic.

After the draft. People will promptly go to ebay and look for their team's picks items. Recency effect.

RE: How should I time this listing?
I voted list it draft night after the 1st pick is made. Also I would think they would be considered xrc sorta like when upper deck did with the inspirations xrc from the draft class of 03 were inserrted in 02 packs.

I ship trades out on mondays.

Yup right after the 1st pick is made. I'm still kicking myself to this day for not selling my 2 "Booby" Gibson Gold Refractor autos (one bowman and one topps chrome) after that game 6 Eastern Conference finals game where he went INSANELY unconscious from downtown. Timing is everything.

RE: How should I time this listing?
Dont think it will really matter...everyone is pretty sure how the #1 pick will be and I dont think New Orleans will pull a shocker and trade it to another team...

The only thing that may help is that there will be more buzz during the draft so it may lure in non-collectors..so you can't go wrong with right after the 1st pick..

RE: How should I time this listing?
As long as its up during the draft, you will be good. like I said, people will be all over it that night, but you dont wont to miss out on the people who might not bid that night. The bids from draft night wont disappear. the longer its up, the more views, the more views equals more bids. Dont cut yourself short cause you think its gonna be a mad rush to geta davis card. IM sure there will be hundreds of others on there that night. If yours is amongst a bunch of others, the bids will be diluted. I can't believe everyone is suggesting that night. Thats limiting everything for you. You're not the only one with that card thinking draft night will be payday. Atleast put it up for auction to end Sunday and put a huge BIN for any crazy people who have to have it draft night.
I know Im gonna be watching the draft and not searching ebay that night. Im sure Im not the only one.

lol. Well that was another question I was debating on asking: BIN/OBO or auction. And normally I don't look for a payday from a card, I actually hate thinking like that, but I realized that possibly with just this one card, I could get all of the supplies I've been hoping to get (could have got them with the money I paid for the Past & Present) and MAYBE another box of some other product, or some paypal for singles or set fillers (really thinking set fillers to finish them up). I've seen this go in auction for as cheap at $79, maybe less, or as much as $200+. I'm suspecting mine to go somewhere between there, not too much higher (though I can't lie, it'd be nice). The cards I normally sell on eBay are for less than $10 including shipping, because I have a lot of low end stuff, and I try to build on it so I can eventually buy a box here and there. Personally, I don't fully understand why it's going for so much, it won't be autographed or even have a piece of jersey in it. Maybe it's just everyone hungry because there were no rookies in this years products. (And yes, I realize saying that may be shooting myself in the foot, lol).
