Titanium Thoughts
I'm I the only one that thinks Panini kinda ruined the fun of the Rookie cards numbered to the players jersey by including parallels??

I think it would have been a whole lot better if there was only the one version..

RE: Titanium Thoughts
Yeah but most products these days carry rookie parallels. In this case, these will be regarded as less valuable than the true RCs, with the exceptions of Nugent-Hopkins and Landeskog being numbered to 1 and 2. Good news is they made the true RCs thicker than the parallels as to lead to less confusion beyond the jersey serial numbering.

RE: Titanium Thoughts
No parallels = no money for the card companies.

Collecting all the Ron Hextall Cards especially those
pesky 1 of 1 cards and other low print runs.
I am also collecting Bernie Parent, Pelle Lindbergh,
Antero Niittymaki & other Flyers goalies.

RE: Titanium Thoughts
You don't have to limit all rookies below 99 to make them valuable. I collect Penguin rookies and Western PA NHL players rookies and this means that Brandon Saad has 3 Panini Rookie cards that are 99 and under. That's not real fair since 2 of them have nothing on them no mem or auto. Making them rarer does not drive up the interest. This Low serial numbered rookies in every set has to be very disappointing to young collectors. I see no problem in having one or maybe 2 high end sets but this limiting is terrible. In my opinion. I wanted to build a Topps Baseball set this year for my first child but how can I tell him that daddy couldn't afford Bryce Harpers rookie so it's almost a set. Do all the inserts and bonuses you want but give us a chance to collect rookies. I feel horrible for RNH collectors, I'm frustrated collecting what I do, I just hope my kids favorite player is a scrub if this continues this way.

I collect in order 1. Dick Allen everything 2. Brian Omogrosso 1/1 3. Past Present and Future Penguins RC 4. Western PA MLB, NBA, NFL, and NHL RC's 5. Pitt players in the NBA RC's

RE: Titanium Thoughts
if you are going to collect rookies for your son then purchase a product like Score or Victory i would say...there are lower and higher end products so it all comes down to the product you collect...

another alternative is not to buy packs and wait months until the prices on a rookie you want get lower and buy it for a lot less than when it first came out....

or trade on here or other sites like it...

there are tons of options....

as for RNH...i collect him...it all comes down to making trades, getting "lucky" in box breaks, and getting "lucky" in auctions at the right times....in no way do i try and get all his rookies though...i know thats a lost cause so i'm ok with mostly the lower end rookies of his

Wanted:

Sidney Crosby, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins

RE: Titanium Thoughts
Thanks but I want to collect all their rookies, that's what I like, I'm ok with some high end, but when a company is blatantly making all of their rookies short print that's what I can't stand. Having the Cup or Crown Royale be the high end is fine but I don't set build or buy that many packs. I'm ok having different price structure but like I said I just don't like what Panini is doing. Even Crosby's Cup rookie is numbered to 199 and still worth 10,000.

RE: Titanium Thoughts
Are the rookies numbered to the players jersey number TRUE rookies? Or are they parallels?

RE: Titanium Thoughts
True Rookies. Listed on the OPG. The parallels actually look like they are numbered higher in serial numbers than most rookies.
