Heritage v. Archive
If you could pick only one box, and you are a big fan of vintage, which one of the two would you pick.
Archive Pro: 2 Autos Pro: Love the alternating year/card designs Pro: Sweet SPs Con: I have seen some of the Autos from the set and a lot have been bringing less than $10. (Low value) Con: Twice the price of Heritage Heritage Pro: Price Pro: Proven product Pro: Sweet SPs Con: Only 2 guaranteed Auto (I might be wrong on the info above. This is just going off the top of my head while waiting here @ work) Any input would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Heritage v. Archive
You aren't guaranteed autos in the Heritage boxes. I opened two hobby boxes and didn't get a single auto. I love both products, did the master set on Heritage this year and am working on the Archives master including autos and relics.
Buy one of each, you can come damn close to the full set from Heritage with one hobby box and a few trades. ![]()

RE: Heritage v. Archive
WOW. I am soooo glad I asked. Kinda bummed about the guaranteed auto hit in Heritage. Might be the reason they have cut their price in almost 1/2.
From Blowout's Site: "Year after year, Topps Heritage Baseball celebrates the stars of yesterday and today in a set that begs to be completed, and 2012 Topps Heritage Baseball is no different. With 100% ON-CARD AUTOGRAPHS and 1 AUTOGRAPH OR RELIC CARD PER HOBBY BOX, 2012 Topps Heritage Baseball delivers again!" I really need to get on here more and complete some trades. I have a bunch of cards I don't wanna put on eBay (I only sell a few items from time to time, and they are normally the higher $) and wanna trade for someone I at least collect. Since I can really only get one, I am really leaning towards the Archive. I would love to get both but I have a wife who will complain when I buy a $1 or $2 card on the bay. So an extra $70 is pretty much out of the question. Thank you for the quick reply

RE: Heritage v. Archive
I used to be a big Heritage collector. I have always loved the vintage cards. I lost all of my cards in a fire a few years ago and stopped collecting. Recently, I have started buying cards again. I follow Topps on Twitter and really liked the Archives. I love all of the throwback cards in it ('71 Topps, Cloth Stickers, etc.). It reminded me a lot of old cards I used to have. The 2012 Archives got me back into collecting again!

RE: Heritage v. Archive
I like Heritage for the chrome & chrome refractor parallels but I'm not a set builder. I know this product is a favorite among set builders & set need traders. As far as autos they fall 1 maybe 2 per case if you're lucky but mostly you will pull a relic/jersey card plus it's only 1 guaranteed per box.

RE: Heritage v. Archive
I am a big fan of vintage and if you like to build sets, Heritage is the way to go.. However you will not get even close to a full set on one box break. I already broke 2 hobby boxes and several lose packs and still need a bunch of SP's.
Archives are also really nice as i love the layout on some of the cards. Plus it easier to make a set. Your choice, both are great. Always on the lookout for pre '85 cards. |

RE: Heritage v. Archive
I also am a big heritage fan and have most of the complete base sets and am working on the chrome sets. But after busting a couple of archives blasters, I really like this set and if it was me I'd pick up a hobby box of archives. But its all up to you dude, buy either and enjoy!!!!

RE: Heritage v. Archive
Yea I not too big on collecting sets. I have a few, but I would just be happy with a couple cool inserts, some nice rookies, and/or cards of people I collect (mainly Yankees). I would like at least one auto per box. Auto doesn't even have to be any big name, just at least someone I have herd of, or can get a chance to see them play (in Majors).
I stopped bye Walmart and picked up a blaster of Archive last night (forgot I had a $25 gift card from last month). Very impressed. I am going to get a box of Hobby ASAP. I pulled like 5 Yankee base cards and two cool inserts. I also got a C C Sabathia 3-d, Clemente 3-d and a Miguel Carbrera mini-sticker.
