I just received my BGS grades today. Very satisfied and pleased with the timeliness and service provided.

However, I had one question/concern. I submitted one card to be recased in a new BGS slab. On the order form is shows:

Date Graded : Wednesday, May 09, 2012
Centering Grade : 0.0
Corner Grade : 0.0
Edges Grade : 0.0
Surfaces Grade : 0.0

Final Grade : 0.0

Is this the usual procedure when cards are re-slabbed (recased)? For 0.0's to show as the subgrades under a newly assigned serial number? Any help or information is appreciated. Thanks to all!

If the original post is somewhat vague, to clarify, I am double-checking in regards to this being the "norm" ...

In my particular case, I sent in a BGS 9.5 (bgs id # 4755408) to be recased.

The email with my submission results arrived this afternoon.

For the particular card that I sent to be recased, it says item id # 7201121. When I click "view details" this shows:

Date Graded : Wednesday, May 09, 2012
Centering Grade : 0.0
Corner Grade : 0.0
Edges Grade : 0.0
Surfaces Grade : 0.0
Autograph Grade : 0.0
Final Grade : 0.0


Just wanted to confirm if this is normal in regards to when a card is recased, or should I worry the card may come back without a grade?

Don't worry. This is normal. When you get the card back, it will have the original serial number. Rest easy my friend.

That or it was deemed "Altered" which is another scenario.

This happened to me also, after Beckett mis-labeled one of my cards and I got it corrected. It showed up on my receipt as Final Grade: 0.0 on each sub just like you described. And now it's been removed completely from the Population report. (Just like my recently graded cards.)

I received the cards in the mail yesterday.

As "Nolan5000" suggested, the card arrived with the original BGS serial number and same subgrades despite the final grade receipt showing: "0.0"

What about the label... did you receive a Brand New Label w/ the original information, or did they use the same label w/ the Brand New Case/Slab?
