I think three days is too long even. 24 hours is plenty. if you can't pay then don't bid. Item goes to the next highest bidder if the seller wants to.

I think that if its a PayPal only auction, the auction should be paid automatically as soon as it ends. Buyers should be informed up front that when they've won it, they've paid it. If they don't have a PayPal account for the PayPal only auction, they should only be able to view the auction.

Its really not that far fetched. Although most buyers are good, I can see a few bad ones taking advantage of the 14 day return window and trying to return an item they can't sell.
