RE: Your Team's Draft Grades?
Pats Fans can you answer for me why you Trust this "Great" Bill Belicheck Eye for Talent when it comes to secondary
His Picks Since 07(4th rd or earlier)
B Merriweather 1st rd - Could hit like a Mack Truck but gave up a Big Play for every big hit BUST
Tyrone Wheatley 2nd rd - Ummmm did he ever see the Field?
Jonathan Wilhite 4th rd- Is he sitill on team?
Pat Chung 2nd rd- Finally started to fill his Potential. Best Secondary pick by BB in the last 5 years
Darius Butler 2nd rd - 1 Word .... FAIL
Devin McCourty 1st - Great rookie season but looked like a Nickle back last year one more bad season and he will prob be Shown the Door.
Ras-L Downing 2nd- Your gonna have to fill me in here cuz IDK but seems like another Bust..
Over the past 5 years i see 4 sure busts, 1 on thin Ice and only 1 Solid Pick overall not that good.. All im saying is Stop Drinking the Belicheck Koolaid his drafting on the Defensive side hasnt been good at all(honestly outside of OL/TE its hasnt been good at All). If not for that guy #12 Belicheck would have been run out of town 4 years ago..

RE: Your Team's Draft Grades?
Gonna go with a B for my Jags.Dont know much about the 7th rounder(pendelton) other than hes older. The Jags forum is pretty mad with the Anger pick, but i look at it this way, punting pretty much cost 2 games last year and with a top 10 d and a borderline o,field posistion can be the big difference between 6 wins or 9 wins (in which a possible wild card).Cant wait to see Robinson/Blackmon/Thomas/Lewis combo on the field,i feel it will make a world of difference for Gabbert this year.

Show me any team/coach that ALWAYS has good picks? There are none, everyone has swings and misses, BB is just under a magnifying glass all the time so any crap pick gets blow up. I trust his picks cuz we win constantly so he must be doing something right. And Ras-I should actually be pretty solid. I would say he missed on Butler, Whetley and Meriweather bad, Whilhite was a 4th so not as huge, McCourty will bounce back and maybe play FS(where he played very well at the end of the year). And Chung is nasty.
I will say, 06, 07 and 08 were all terrible draft classes less Mayo and Slater, but again, no coach/team does it year in and out. Overall I would say BB is better than average.

RE: Your Team's Draft Grades?
For The Bills im gonna give them a A-. I really wanted Kuechly to round out our Front 7 but Carolina stole him 1 pick before us Grrrrrr. but Gilmore was a Nice Consilation Prize He should start right away and in a division with the Pats you need to have Good CB's. Cordy Glenn Falling to us in the 2nd Rd was just Awesome he has the Talent to be a Pro Bowl Guard one day and maybe even Solid Tackle(prob on the right side.). In the Third we grabbed a Speedy WR who will Stretch the Field and Help on Special teams thsi pick was a Bit of a Reach but fits what we were looking for. The 2 Florida State guys we grabbed Nigel Bradham LB in the 4th and Zebris Sanders OT in the 5th were great Value picks and should Contribute right a way in a reserve role an maybe Future starters. In the End we filled all our Needs and outside of only that 3rd round i felt we got Excellent Value and didnt Reach..

RE: Your Team's Draft Grades?
Its a little unfair to call McCourty a bust for a guy that played 2 years and made a pro bowl already (I know, its only the pro bowl but still its something to go by) And Dowling has all the potential in the world. He was on the IR last year, hopefully that doesnt get him this year.

Didnt call him a Bust said he had a Great Rookie year but looked like a Nickel back at best last year. If he Struggles again this year I doubt BB will keep him around with his Bloated 1st rd Rookie Deal.
I said the pats had 4 Bust Merrieweather, Butler , Wheatley and Wihlite(i can let his slide since he was a 4th). McCourty IMO is on thin Ice. Chung is the only Draft pick that has Locked a Starting Job in NE and The Jury is still out on Downing.

Yea i'll agree calling the 1st three busts, kinda hard to call a 4th rounder a bust. But I think McCourty will play FS and if you look at his stats at the latter half of the year he played very well. Ras-I was good before he got hurt, lets hope he can stay healthy, he was hurt alot in college too.

Yea that's true. It seemed that most of his problems happened last year after he got injured, never really came back as well.

RE: Your Team's Draft Grades?
Eagles - overall pretty good - probably an A- or B+ - addressed the biggest need by drafting defense and Vinny Curry is a potential steal in the late second. The Eagles needed help in the front 7 and the secondary. McNutt in the 6th is a potentially good player as well (at least was a great college player). Not sure about the quarterback they drafted but given Andy Reid's track record at developing good backup quarterbacks someone will probably overpay for him in a couple of years.
