Authentication
I was considering submitting a 96-97 Ultra Platinum Medallion Kobe for Authentication but the card looks like it may have been tampered with. If I were to submit it for Authentication only would BGS just slab it or do they check for tampering on this type of submission?

They do check for tampering.
It would come back as "Authentic" but then say "altered" in small print underneath that.

In that case I will probably not submit it. That altered stamp takes value away IMO. Is that your MJ rookie on the sample you provided?

Nah. I collect, dont sell unless I want to upgrade really.
Mine is a BGS 7.

Give it a shot. I've had cards returned to me as altered and then I re-submitted them a few months later and they got graded as BGS 9's.
