RE: Search in org not working

I'm going to look into this issue:

However it still defaults back to the entire collection I am searching instead of the one card I am searching for. Do I really need to refresh every time I search for a card?

Any additional information/steps to reproduce the problem would be appreciated.

As for the "Site is unresponsive" messages in Google Chrome; this means that the javascript functionality on the page is taking too long to process. The time it takes to process the javascript is directly affected by the speed of _your_ computer.

What are you doing to cause this message to appear? Are you changing your collections or the page of items in your collection?

How many rows of items show up in your tables? If you are using more than 100, I'd suggest changing it back to 100.

Which layout are you using if the problem is in Org?

The future changes to org/trade should fix this. I can confirm that it is at least being addressed once I identify what is causing your issue.
However it still defaults back to the entire collection I am searching instead of the one card I am searching for. Do I really need to refresh every time I search for a card?

Any additional information/steps to reproduce the problem would be appreciated.

Example: I am in my Albert Pujols Collection and I do a search of All Collections for a 1997 Score Premium Stock Mike Piazza card. After several "Site is unresponsive" messages, I get the same page of all my Pujols cards.

OK. So I need to buy a new computer? That's probably not going to happen. I did clear all my cookies. The site was working wonderfully for months and then all the colors have changed and the look of the page is different and every page is unresponsive.

What are you doing to cause this message to appear? Are you changing your collections or the page of items in your collection?

I can get the "Site is unresponsive" message to appear by simply logging onto the site. It took me approximately half an hour and about eight "Site is unresponsive" messages to get from my Pujols Collection in Organize back to this thread.

How many rows of items show up in your tables? If you are using more than 100, I'd suggest changing it back to 100.

I currently have 100 rows of items in my table. I have also tried 500 rows but the site reacts the same either way.

Which layout are you using if the problem is in Org?

I am using the default layout. My columns are Description/Condition/Haves/Keeps/Trade Away/Ser/Mem/Beckett High.

I collect Hall of Fame baseball player cards and cards of current and retired superstars.

RE: Search in org not working
Sorry guys, but I'm not able to reproduce your problem when following the steps you provided...

I've contacted our test team and passed along the information you gave me to get them to help try to reproduce this error.

Regarding buying a new computer, that is not what I was trying to say. I meant that since it's affected by the speed of _your_ computer, when I go to your organize on _my_ computer it loads instantly. Every user has a different experience in how sluggish this site is and it is based on their computer speed. We have taken steps to minimize this problem in the future and it's only a matter of time until they get implemented in all areas of our site.

RE: Search in org not working
Could you guys try searching again and when it doesn't work, come back here and give me the url your browser is on after the search?

Please see my previous post on this thread for more information:

This could help me to identify the problem. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this.

From the other thread you linked there, the second one worked for me. Is this what you're looking for?

RE: Search in org not working
Hi Iconms,

Are you having the same problem as these other guys?

My intention of the last post is to make sure when they type in their search term and press search, it adds what they have typed in to the s= part of the url in their browser.

For example, if you go to your all items collection you will be at this url:
http://www.beckett.com/organize#c=0

If you then type in 1997 Score Premium Stock Mike Piazza card and press enter/search, the url should change to the one below, which will search the collection:
http://www.beckett.com/organize#c=0&s=19...iazza+card

If the user reports that he is still on the first url, or if he reports some other url, I will be able to see more clearly where the disconnect is.

My url is not changing after doing a search. My url is this with All Collections up: http://www.beckett.com/organize#c=0

Regardless of which card I search All Collections for, the url remains the same. In fact it doesn't seem to react at all on a second search unless I refresh and then it comes back to the same url again.

I collect Hall of Fame baseball player cards and cards of current and retired superstars.

Hi Zeprock,

Can you goto this url, when it loads hold down ctrl and press F5.
http://img.beckett.com/js/organize/organize.js

Can you confirm that lines 9, 10 and 11 look like this:

container: '#search-organize',
term: '#search_term',
search_in: '#search_in',

Thanks,
Chris Bankston

RE: Search in org not working
Im having the same problem right now. I go to my PC folder for example, I search "2010 Chicle" in this collection and after searching the entire collection comes right back up.
I finally just decided to purchase the org for the year and now this. I don't understand how this site can always only be compatible with 1 version of 1 browser at anytime.

When I click on that link nothing even opens for me..

EDIT: I did refresh the page after clicking on the collection and then searched and it came up.. i don't mind the extra steps too much but its weird.
