Hey guys, just got back into the hobby. Quick question, of the 1970's and 1980's players, is Pistol Pete Autos the toughest to get?

Pistol Pete?

I don't know that there is one unless there's a cut set floating around. Wilt is pretty much impossible too.
Wilt has certified on card autos but Maravich does not.
Therefore, out of the NBA's top 50 players, Maravich's auto is the hardest to find. However, there are a few certified cut autos of Pistol Pete. Just be prepared to pay about $3,000 for them when they appear on eBay.
Amos Alonzo Stagg is the rarest, he only has 4 auto'ed basketball cards. All 1/1 and all cuts

Bias is more of a novelty...the guy never made it to the NBA unfortunately. I was thinking more along the lines of NBA greats.

RE: Pistol Pete?
For those that don't know why Amos Alonzo Stagg (August 16, 1862 – March 17, 1965) is important to Basketball History...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amos_Alonzo_Stagg Stagg developed basketball as a five-player sport and was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in its first group of inductees in 1959. On March 11, 1892, Stagg, still an instructor at the YMCA School, played in the first public game of basketball at the Springfield YMCA. A crowd of 200 watched as the student team beat the faculty, 5–1. Stagg scored the only basket for the losing side. side note: 9 autos across 4 different sports. http://www.beckett.com/search/#term=Amos...attr=24466
