Beckett iPhone/iPad/iPod App. Cool idea?
This might of been on the boards here before...But I don't know for sure.

I thought that it would be cool to have an app on my iPhone where I can make deals and check for the prices of cards. I go to a lot of card shows in my area and it is a pain to look up the book value of cards I might purchase by using my internet app. I think to just have a Beckett App where I can find the book values to cards and make deals would help so I can make deals when i'm not around the computer, and it would also help when I am making purchases or selling cards so I can prove what the card books.

By carrying around a Beckett Magazines, it would help not to get ripped by book values, but the Magazines don't have all the cards that are listed in the online Beckett. You could also be able to trade wherever you are.

Edit: The App could also cost from $5-10, I would still pay for it just to have the on the go service, I bet others would do the same also. Considering we are paying for the pricing though, it would make sense for it to be free, but I would still pay the few bucks just to have access wherever I am.

I just think it would be a good idea, anyone else think so? I don't know if its possible either, or maybe there is already an app that I haven't heard about.

What do you guys think?

I think this is a great idea as well. Using my Iphone I browse beckett all the time and have even looked up prices while on the go. Although it is doable, it is not the most accessable way to look at the site. I too would be willing to pay for the app.

Completely agree. Would love an iPhone/iPad app. Would def help for card shows and just general purpose use on an iPhone.

I had a feeling that someone else might of thought of this as well.

Do you think that they will actually make an app for it?

It would be nice, browsing the site from my iPhone is a pain most of the time.

RE: Beckett iPhone/iPad/iPod App. Cool idea?
I think with Topps' recent foray into the world of apps, this is the kind of thing that will happen eventually. It'll just be up to Beckett as to if they want to invest the time/money/effort into developing it themselves or wait for someone else to beat them to the punch. Or, they could do like Topps did with their Pennant app and just buy up something someone else developed and slap their own branding on it.
