Wait, December 1996? Didnt know Beckett even had a website back then, I was a senior in high school at that point.

RE: Can someone please explain why i got these grades, im lost
Sonnyday is asking why not release the algorithm info,,, simple answer is private companies do what private companies want to do,,,, while they do so and it infuriates those of us who merely want to use the info to learn-- its something we learn to deal with in business,,,,
EXAMPLE-- Kentucky fried will tell you all the nutritional info you'll ever need about their products,,, they openly prepare them and sell them to you and you can see them being cooked when you order,,, they will even tell you what oil they cook them in--- but they wont release the recipes used nor will they release how long they cook and preparation details,,,, and while watching them work will give a trained chef clues-- without exact measurements in the recipe plus details about the prep work , the time cooked ,and at what temps-- no ones going to ever pry the "secret" away,,,, Could it assist collectors out knowing the algorithms? Yep,,, could also assist those with agendas by giving them the "keys to the kingdom" so to speak to manipulate that info for profit,,,its been done plenty of times in this hobby on many levels be it at BGS/PSA or where ever,,,, hence holding on to info has been become a key "tool" companies have in running their businesses and protecting their products,,,, BGS , PSA, SGC all tell collectors factors they look for in grading a card,,,, won't they don't reveal is how they decipher fraudulent or manipulative submissions,,,, its their "recipe" and they decided not releasing algorithms helps them combat fraud and protect their product,,,, their just doing the same thing KFC is doing,,,, TO ANSWER THE OP I realize not knowing "exactly" what each issue greatest factors are affects your "perceptions"-- so let me offer advice from someone who has graded with PSA since 1992 and BGS since 1999-- if you spend the majority of your time teaching yourself about "eye appeal" items---centering & corners -- and asking people with many submissions how each card issue gets looked at and what they learned about that issue-- you'd succeed without even caring about the algorithm,,,, There are very, very few issues where the other 2 factors come into play ( surfaces-- Chrome cards are one of the rare times this is weighted heavily),,,, and edges rarely come into play except on he thicker 125+ point plus thick cards where corners/edges really can decide a cards fate ( examples there would be the Exquisite/Premier issues ) ,,,, My guess is centering and corners are the major factors on your particular submissions,,,, a low centering grade where the algorithm shows heavy weight on centering lowers an overall score,,,, I'll use an example of an algorithm ,,,, ,,,, Centering 50% Corners 30% Edges 10% Surface 10% So a card with low centering or corners will affect the example shown immensely,,,, not saying yours was this algorithm,,, merely indicating that centering-- which is a main "eye appeal' item-- may have killed the cards final results,,,, There are other things that you learn affect eye appeal ( print dots, registration issues, etc) but its all based on each card (issue) and they all have their little things to look for,,, hence why this board exists is so peopel can ask and learn,,, Hope in some way some of this "info" helps,,, jeff p.s. There are cards I've seen with final grades 1.5 pts or higher than the lowest sub so please don't put it out there folks that its not possible,,,, Beckett was released as a website during the ST Louis National in 1995 ,,,, there are still many users around since 1996 or prior,,,, and don't let signup dates fool you sometimes when computers/passwords get lost so don't seniority dates ,,,,
