Well since you seem to be the resident PSA expert on this forum, tell us how PSA determines the final grade of a card? All you get from them is a single number and qualifiers.

Here is how PSA determines the final grade, it was found on their website. http://www.psacard.com/services/psa_grad...ards.chtml Collecting Bob Feller, 1951 Bowman, anything Cleveland.

Just like you chimed in too right?
I found the same grading faqs on the BGS site http://www.beckett.com/estore/helpsys/vi...ticleId=47 That still doesnt explain why a particular score on any individual card PSA graded. Seems like you get very defensive when it comes to PSA and their sub-standard slabs. RE: Can someone please explain why i got these grades, im lost
It's probably not a difficult equation to figure out if you had the time, it would just take some tinkering. I would compare it to why so many kids don't understand why they are failing high school English.
In Class participation: 100 Home work: 100 Quizzes: 75 Tests: 50 325/4= 81% Unless... In class = 5% Homework = 10% Quizzes = 25% Test = 60% Which would make your course average a 63%!! |

Where did you learn that companies cannot disclose proprietary property? Proprietary property consumes are everydays lives, and every company has proprietary property they choose and choose not to share with the public. Example: Public Proprietary Property: An Applebee's Restaurant Menu Private Proprietary Property: How they establish their retail price over their actual food costs. Now lets say Applebees wanted to make their Menu Private Proprietary Property. Well that would suck for the average consumer going into one of their restaurants to eat. Well Applebee's chooses to make their Menu public, which in turn increases sales. Now BGS has every right to keep their algorithim (if one exists) private, but they can also make it public. In my opinion, from a BGS Executive standpoint...unless they are lagging in business or facing severe criticism, there is no reason for them to do so. But from a collector's standpoint..I would love to see how they derive their final grade. Heck, we don't even know that an algorithim truly exists.
