1) it would be nice to have a Twitter-like user referencing system. If someone mentions me as a user in a thread I won't notice it unless I happen to read that specific post in that thread. It would be great if by wrinting -say- @folkertino in a post I am automatically notified that I was referred to in a thread.

This would be particularly helpful in the trade forum, if someone says 'so-and-so might be interested in this' or 'so-and-so collects that player'.

2) a chat function would be helpful

3) in order for me to keep my view of the forum a bit organized, it would be helpful to be able to mark threads as read or even ignore threads. This way I only see threads that I am interested in.

2. chat is an absolute no go, has been from the start. it's a kid magnet, a spam magnet, a way to get around the trade system, and frankly, retrogressive

3. the icons on the left indicate read threads, unread threads etc

1. i really hate the idea of twitter-fying beckett. hate it with the heat of an exploding star. but i know it will make some folks happy. certainly not an unpopular suggestion with some folks, but id rather root for the yankees than have it happen (okay, maybe not)

I like the idea of the hash tags but we have to get to a certain point on the site before something like that can be considered. I will tag this post and make sure we look into that when the time comes. As jacobystealshome said the chat could be a bad thing. But again any ideas are welcomed and considered very important to not only me but our whole team.

thanks for your feedback, quite refreshing to see someone on a forum disagreeing without being disrespectful and childish. +1.

I'm not a fan of Twitter (use FB more) and I wouldn't want my Beckett account to literally link into my social media accounts. The only thing I would see the benefit of adopting from -say- Twitter is that usernames could be made active in order for that particular user to be made aware of a post.

I appreciate that. Perhaps it should have been mentioned before last year's makeover.
