OPG-Update by Beckett members?!
Hi folks

I´m not sure if this topic was posted before. Is there an opportunity that Beckett users can update the OPG database? I have created tons of hockey checklists for Beckett and have spent lots of freetime. I´m tired of waiting months if the OPG is updated with the provided information. This would be a minor issue for the users but most of them spend lots of $$$ (me included) for the OPG the last years and don´t have an up to date database. I have tons of cards which I can´t add to my organize because they aren´t listed in the OPG yet (for example Minor and European sets). The checklists from major sets like Upper Deck or Panini will be added a couple of days after the product is released.
It would be great if there is a way that Beckett members keep the database up to date with the missing sets. I raise my hand if you need helpers for the hockey OPG if the editors haven´t much time adding them.

Benny

Major PC:

Green, Mike 25 of 29 -> 86,21 %
Momesso, Sergio 108 of 124 -> 87,10 %

Looking for Linus Omark, Magnus Paajarvi and Oliver Ekman-Larsson

Thumb up! I agree! We will have a serious disaster! It is like giving your PayPal password and your eBay password to a so-called partner when indeed the partner is a con-artist. Never gonna happen, period!

If he means just inputing cards and sets but not their conditional value then why not? If Beckett doesnt do it and will not do it for a very long time then maybe if the work is done for them they can price the items.

Beckett Database should be legit and accurate. Inputing cards and sets by members might affect the legitimacy and accuracy of the database.

1. A company can not just entrust its payroll/accounting needs to its regular employees. A certified/licensed accountant must be in-charge on the payroll/accounting.

2. Your youtube account can not just be entrusted to anyone that subscribes to you. You wouldn't entrust your subscribers to edit, upload and download your videos without proper authorization and without any kind of liability from them when a certain circumstance occur from no where.

Beckett tries its best to update the database, that is what I believe. Plus, Beckett already listed an option for members who want to add certain cards or certain sets that are not currently found in the database. You have to follow these steps and be patient, because they will list them. Might take them longer than you might expect but they will list them.

Just my humble opinions.

Perhaps if beckett released a software like they used to have, people can just update lists on their own PC that way. I like the org, but some type of software where i can do data entry instead of clicking on every checkbox would be nice.

That is actually nice. Release a software product and the collectors can buy it. Install that to the computer and get updates from time to time.

Can you elaborate your idea? It is very nice.

Well there is a software out there called The Card Collector. However its buggy and updates are $40 a month and arent current

Would be nice to have some drop downs for brand names, sports, years, set name etc. And then a little dialog box where you can enter your card numbers you have for a particualr set. Using the org you have to search, find the cards, click all of them (so if your cards arent in numbered order prepare to spend tiome in the org) go back and edit the quantites of what you have and what you have for trade

That card collector program lets you enter a card number and then if you enter it again the quanity goes up, You dont have to go back and adjust

You can also add sets as well. Kind of like data entry. Beckett could charge $10 for preloaded updates or a yearly fee like they do for the org. They had software at one point but not sure why they stopped making it.

I hope they bring it back with improvements. Smile
