Good day, Beckett Community!

It is a WINDY day here in Halifax... and I do mean wind. The temperature outside is -5C (23F) but the wind brings it down to -25C (-4F). Now, I am a Northerner, and I am not complaining about the cold... it's the WIND! I don't like wind at all, and the way it blows here is ridiculous!

I can walk North and have a face-full of wind the whole way. I turn East, and the wind stays in my face. I turn South... AND IT'S STILL IN MY FACE! How does this happen? Haha! It's a constant vortex blowing in all directions to dismay anyone that traverses the sidewalks. Oh well... I wanted to get some cards!!!

I headed over to the LCS (new place... old one is putting himself down the crapper, and FAST!) to see if I can track down a box of Crown. He had the foresight to snare a load of cases (foresight is as common here in Halifax as common sense is... read: superpower status) so he was able to sustain my craving. The walk home was more than blustery and wrought with curses to Mother Nature's detest of this place.

I got home and tore into the two packs of Player Of The Day that I got with my purchase. Landeskog, Ovechkin, Stamkos and a Black Border Subban. Not bad for free! Now on to the four packs of glorious card that is Crown Royale.

The first pack contained this:



Pretty cool, and I know that at least Walt needs it. Second pack had this little gem (sarcasm) in it:



Okay... so maybe the big hit is in the last two packs. Pack three:



Dude, really? Adam Graves in an Oiler uniform is worth putting into your set? Well, the last pack surely has to have the box-saver in it! On to pack four:





Umm... THAT is the best card in here? Not cool! This card is not even considered Hockey in the Beckett Database! In order to see the BV on it, I have to SUBSCRIBE to another price guide... cool, huh? Well, that was my day, how was yours? I am not even going to list the inserts, as they were even worse! I just hope that my next box delivers. You would think that the gods would at least give you something nice after bearing through the nasty weather...but anyways lmk if you willing to part with any Red Wings cards including base. Thanks

Sadly, the only Red Wing that I yanked was Lidstrom's Base. I have a few Wings in my Org. so let me know if you see anything that you like. Thanks for the sympathy! Haha!

Well I'm just restarting collecting so any Wings cards are a plus but unfortunately I don't have any hockey tradebait at all.

Ouch. I would have cried. We've had no snow in the states (Mideast, that is) We usually do and I can't help but miss it. It's 70F out here in March. It's weird. Anywho, did you manage to pull any Caps base?

Thanks for the comments, folks... and for not laughing at me (online, at least)! I hope that it gets better. I am going to try one more box. Should I do this bad again, I'll be done. Should it be better by a mile, I might buy another.

Buddy, I feel your pain. I ripped two boxes that were not so hot the other day. Back to back bummers, it was cringe-worthy.
