Personally I think that it was a pretty good trade. I do think the CBJ may have got the better end in the long run with JJ and a 1st rounder. One thing JJ has a very bad +/- every year since he has been in the league and it will only get worse now with CBJ. That's not saying he is a bad dman, just that he is put into situations that aren't right.
I think Carter will be a great help with Richard, that's if they can stay out of the night clubs in LA, because most of us know of some of the stuff that went on while they were both in Philly. He will add a great scoring touch that LA needs for the playoff run.

I think LA won this in the short term and Columbus won it in the long term.
I also think that's exactly what these two teams wanted and needed.
As such, I think it's a good trade for both sides.

Carter will score goals but only against the bottom tier teams. He can score in the playoffs but not in the clutch. The rumors are true but hopefully him & Richie got thier wake up calls when dealt from the Flyers.

i just find it funny that CBJ gave Carter this huuuuge looooong contract (8 years? or 10? cant recall...) then trade him away before the 1st year is even over!

I hope this means they are keeping Nash... even thou in a way I want him to win a cup so badly

im with you there bonnev659 ...always kind of liked Nash myself and he is easily the most underrated player in all of NHL, imo.
would absolutely LOVE to see the Caps figure out a way to nab him! dump Semin & will have plenty of cap space
