An apology from the linesman perhaps. It's easy o mis-hear things and not one single other person heard a thing. I'm not saying the linesman actively made it up, but it's possible he heard something else that sounded like a slur to him and overreacted.
As for no comments after the game, he or the team may have decided there was very little he could say to better the situation and so much more that could worsen it (if taken out of context, etc)

But like was said before, none of us really know anything about it and this is all speculation.
