Some of the older year topps cards(1981) got older year wrappers on them the box i just bought has 1979 wrappers on them. Does anybody know if topps did this at the begining the end or somewhere in the middle of that years run of cards? Is a box like this more or less likely to have good prints (nice centering) obviously at this point wouldnt make a difference on how good a shape there in that would depend on how the box was treated over the last 30 years but are they possibly better? Also does it effect the likelihood of getting a Joe Montana?

Question about 1981 Topps
|
well i googled it and it sounds like they would be end of production line(though can believe everything you read so it could be wrong but makes sense so prob true) but does anybody have any idea if this would have any effect on amount of joe montana's i might get or how good the printing would be?

I bought a complete '81 year set from a dealer 30 years ago and put it in storage. Pulled it out a few weeks ago and the Staubach card was horrible (blurry image) but the Montana card looked nice so I took it to Beckett for on sight grading and walked out with a BGS 9.5
