One other note. I don't think there is a problem with card "collecting". I think the problem begins when people become more worried about the "value" of the cards. Nevermind what the card looks like, it seems to be more and more about how much someone can get for it on ebay. I've seen a few posts where people post a "hit" that they got in a box and post a scan which is great, right? That's what it should be about, sharing the enjoyment of the moment. Yet a post will then have a "the last two went for $XX on ebay". Guess what? I don't care!

Very good points!! Take me for instance. I collect strictly Nolan Ryans and I pay what I want to. For the longest time I've been buying Beckett Graded Ryans or PSA 10's that I think will cross over well to BGS/BVG. I rarely buying any raw Nolan Ryans.
