What case of product would you buy if.....

What case of product would you buy if.....
You had $2,000 - $3,000 to invest?

I am looking for real feedback. The key word here is INVEST. I would be doing a group break with whatever I do. What year and product would it be? Thanks for your feedback.
Matt Holliday Refractors -75/162 - 46.3%
2006 UC Ensemble Triple Auto 69/87 - 79.0%
2007 UD Future Stars Triple Auto 11/18 - 61.0%
2007 SS Dual Auto Brwn Glv/Blk Ink 7/34 - 20.5%

Don't think that's the answer he's looking for...for investing I'd say regular Bowman, Bowman Draft, etc. Many people on these boards don't like baseball card investors so you'd have to get used to that here

Not that we dont like investors. Just the people with the silly notion that you can invest in modern cards. Only vintage has a track record of showing any potential for a return on your money. With modern cards you hope for that one huge pull as the rest will be worth squat 5 years from now. Heck with Bowman brands most of the kids pictured wont even get to smell a MLB jock strap. Thats more gambling. So I guess all the little old ladies playing nickel slots in vegas are just investing in their retirement. lol....

WOW that gave me a great idea.... Next time I sneek off with the guys to the casino.... I'll just tell my wife Im going to a shareholders meeting......

Investing does not imply winning

Topps tribute is a fun break that can be highly profitable. Get yours preordered now before the price jumps, which if the past is any indication it most assuredly will do. This will be the first year Willie Mays has been brought back into product in a long time. Also Ken Griffey Jr will be added into the product too. Not to mention all the other vintage players like Ruth, Mantle, Gehrig, DiMaggio, Koufax, Cobb, Honus Wagner, Hank Aaron, etc...

I think it depends on what you mean by invest. If you want something short term, I would go with a high end product like Triple Threads or Topps Sterling. If you are looking for something to hold onto a few years and then pull it out and see if its worth more, than go with a Bowman product. I am not to familiar with this years Bowman products, but Bowman Draft seems to have the best autos over the past years. For example, I bought a box of 2009 Bowman draft, and pulled a Mike Trout auto. These autos are a players first, and often most desirable autograph card.

I have also been considering doing a box break, I have been wanting to do Topps Triple Threads 2011. If you are wanting to do a box break in the next month, go with triple threads, it is a phenominal craze right now and will be at least until tribute comes out. If you want to wait for tribute, I think I am with d0dgerfan1979 Tribute will definitely score huge and will sky rocket in price with Griffey in the mix. Griffey is one of current collector's recent retiree heroes.
If you start your day saying how it is going to be awesome, it is more than likely going to be disappointing, but if you are Awesome than it is hard not to have an Awesome day.

This is a great thread, as I too have been considering doing a box break in the near future. My issue is finding people who will want to participate since you can't really promote on the boards/eBay

I know I cant afford a box, let alone a case, of TTT but I do participate in the team box break, because I can afford it, granted I havent had one hit for my team (Which have been at least 60% Yankees, and I HATE THE YANKEES), but I do get to enjoy watching it and the thrill of the chance.
