Top 100 cards of all time?
#1

Top 100 cards of all time?
Has Beckett or any other reputable publication ever attempted a top 100 (or any other ranking) cards of all time list?

I know Topps did a top 60 Topps cards but this excludes all other brands.

Anybody?

Seems like the very first GU and Auto card produced would need to be in that list as well. Opened up a door in the 90's too with the insert era

here's another idea: do a top 100 inserts all time list. That would be pretty cool to see.

Beckett Baseball did a top 100 cards of all time in '92. Beckett also put out a 300 Greatest Cards of the 20th Century book.
Collecting 2010 Bowman, 80s oddball rookies, and '89 Griffeys.

I am trying to think of my top 10, i am not sure the Honus Wagner makes it. Top 100 sure, but as far as impact and scope the card is pretty limited. It is hands down the most valuable but that's about it. In contrast the '52 Mantle is a card that lead us into the modern age of collecting. It's the card of the golden ago of baseball, the card that helped baby boomers re-connect with their youth and help a generation collectively complain "...my mom threw them out...". Boomers trying to recapture what was lost buy stockpiling '84 Mattinglys and '87 Bo Jacksons made the hobby what it is today.

Just a thought.
