RE: What's your favorite set?
I'm a big fan of 1952 Bowman, 1955 and 1956 Topps, I like T206s a lot, Cracker Jack (original and 2004 Topps Cracker Jack), 2011 Bowman Platinum, and just about any 90's Pinnacle Hologram Inserts (some of the nicest looking cards)

As far as sets I can't stand.....1991 Topps, 1988 Donruss/Leaf, any of the "Wood-Panel Cards" (1962 Topps, 1987 Topps, etc.), not a big fan of 1957 Topps,

Mine would be '92 Bowman, because I have alot of good memories associated with it. I had an awesome time collecting it back around '97 when the pack prices at my LCS went to $5. A few years earlier, they were around $7.
Collecting 2010 Bowman, 80s oddball rookies, and '89 Griffeys.

'53 Bowman Color and '57 Topps. Both beautiful sets. I also really like the '55 Bowman, not as beautiful, but a cool set.

I like the '85 Donruss set too. In my opinion, the black border with the red lines says 80s more than any of the others.

I like the 1970 Topps set because that was the year I began collecting and the images on those cards remain with me to this day. I can recall what each player's card looks like.
I collect Hall of Fame baseball player cards and cards of current and retired superstars.

Its tough to pick a singular favorite...

t205 - Favorite vintage set, gold borders are so awesome.

1954 - Favorite and most complete set of this era from a family collection

1971, 1972 - Some of the first cards I bought were from this set (1971 Thurman Munson, 1972 Roberto Clemente)

1980, 1983 - Some of the first packs I busted

1989 Upper Deck - A game changer, my first high end cards.

2011 Allen and Ginter - First set I decided to build after being away from the hobby for 20 years. Complete with all subsets, minis, mini subsets and full black border mini set. (still in progress)
