Is this a fake ?
Can a auto on a printing plate be that different from a auto on a regular chrome card ?

I don't think it's a fake, maybe he signed the plates much earlier than the others, this looks very similar to Johnny Cueto

Same year, way different autos. The plate is a sticker and the other is on-card, right? Probably all the stickers are like that and visa versa

Ok thanks I'm not really up to date on how it's down. Some reason I thought they signed the plates then made the cards from the negatives so that all the autos should look the same.

But why would he spell his name wrong? A "Y" instead of an "I"...

Some of these players dont even finish elementary. So i guess they might not even know how to spell their own names at times, OR, topps spelled it wrong which might also be the case. Check out Domonic Browns 2008 cards, i think its the topps chrome card that says dominic instead of domonic, so topps had his name wrong. In cardonas case, he might have spelled it right then.
Thanks to Jbel4331 for my sig!!!!

You've got to remember these guys are signing thousands of cards in a year. In the instance of a printing plate the plate is made out of Zinc or Aluminum and could be difficult to sign since the non-image areas are designed to repel grease (Sharpie) if there is the slightest presence of moisture.

I just got a card from Bowman Chrome where the guy just spelled his name normally. It wasn't even a signature.
