Sketchy Ebay Listings?
I was browsing my saved searches on my iPhone and I happened to notice these "The Cup" cards for sale. They all just appear to be various sub-sets, mocked up and sold to look like "examples". I would just like some reassurance on this.
Cheers,
JC

RE: Sketchy Ebay Listings?
What they are is in boxes of the cup you can get a redemption for an uncut sheet of the artist proofs. Some people get the sheets and have them professionally cut then flog them on the bay. I'd prefer to have the uncut sheet.... but i've got a couple of these artist proofs in my collection just because theyre a little different, i personally think they look cool, but other people think theyre worthless. They're not a true 1/1 at all, but they attract interest from some people.

Yeah i got one of the cut ones for my Logan Couture and Antti Niemi PC. I think they come in a sheet of the sets, like all the rookie patches, all the shields etc. Would look awesome to have the whole sheet of all the rookies or something hanging on your wall haha. Apparently they used to send them out framed, but now they just send you the sheet from what i've heard. Theyre a bit unique though thats for sure.

They're really good for getting in-person autographs though, but they're not 1/1's, and certainly not worth all the money people are paying for them or selling them for.

I have bought from that seller before I wised up. I admit to waaayyyyyyy over paying. If you like collecting one player and are obsessed with that player, like me and Ron Hextall, then they are a decent addition to your PC. But, watch your wallet.
