I know I'm picky Smile

Interested in EX-MT or better pre-'56 Cardinals, '53 Bowman Color & '74-'78 Topps.

I fully understand! I am picky too when it comes to vintage cards. The only vintage I really go after are MLB Cardinals cards. I collect NFL too, but my team didn't exist until 1995 so I don't have to worry about vintage there.
All of those '79's I traded you early this year (and the ones you passed on) came from a collection that my Grandma bought to give to me for Christmas last year. Those '79s were some of the best cards in the collection. The original owner was obviously an A's fan. Even though it was mostly stuff from '79 to '92, I have traded a lot of the stuff that wasn't added to my PC (mostly Cardinals and Rickey Henderson). I was able to trade almost ALL of the Cansecos, even the Broder cards.
I'd love to get some more '79s b/c I like the design, but I'd trade you almost any I come across, if you need them. Also, I didn't really want the '79s that you didn't want either. Wink

Cool, I appreciate it. The reason I am putting it together is one I like the design, and two, '79 Topps was the first pack of cards that my Mom ever bought me.

Cool story! I can't remember if the 1st pack of cards I was given by my Dad were '87 or '88. I know they were Topps, but we really bonded over the '88 and '89 Topps packs. 1987 is still considered as a great design by me, even though MANY collectors HATE them. I was born in '78, so I wouldn't have memories of opening anything around that time. My Dad waited until he was sure that I was interested in MLB before buying packs for me. I remember watching the Cards lose that '87 WS, but I don't remember whether I got packs of cards before or after that happened. I do know that Ozzie Smith was the reason I got into MLB and collecting MLB cards.
A child watching a man backflip into his position on the field can easily entice that child to be interested in baseball! Wink

Let me know if you still need some cards and I'll look through what I have...A few years ago I actually bought a unopened boxes of 1979 and promptly...opened them...the star and commons I have are fresh from packs with some a lot better than others

Sorry I can't help you out on this! I think I've only got no more than five cards from that year.
