It's not open for debate...and that is how we have been asked to enforce it.

Note the verbiage is not commercial "intentions" (ie - intent has no bearing). It says commercial purposes = any links to commercial activity off-Beckett. Since a closed auction can have no commercial purpose (can't sell an already-closed auction) we've been told it's OK to allow those links for purposes of hobby discussions.

I'm not debating, but closed auctions have live auctions advertised on them all across the top trying to entice people to bid.
