Has anybody seen this time of message when trying to bid? I found a seller that has 8 cards I want, but am only allowed to bid on 5. I never seen this error message before. Funny, because I have not purchased any items from this seller. I emailed the seller asking him why I can not bid, even though I am a perfect buyer. Always pay less than 24 hrs or sooner. The Seller has about the same rating as I do, with almost same amount of transactions..

"This item is only available to buyers who have not purchased 5 or more items from this seller in the past 10 days."

Basically it is a preference the seller has put in place; probably because they have had issues with non-paying bidders previously and don't want one person maliciously winning all their auctions and then not paying.

Basically, what he is saying is, if you have bid and won on 5 or more of his auctions in the past 10 days, then your not allowed to bid or buy anything more until 10 days is up.

I have not won any of his auctions. That's is what was confusing to me.. but the restriction says that you can only bid on 5 items at a time. I have to wait 10 days to bid again, but by then, the cards I want will be gone. That is my frustration. Don't want to lose out on the cards, because I have not seen them online in over a year.

You don't have to have won any of his auctions as long as you are the high bidder on 5 of his active listings. If your the high bidder, ebay assumes you will win and if you win then because of his settings you wouldn't be able to buy anymore. That is why ebay is preventing you from bidding. If someone outbids you on one or more of those 5 cards, then you will be able to bid on others until once again you reach the limit set in his preferences of 5.

PM the seller and ask him to remove the option from the listings you like. If he doesn't then that is his loss on some $$$.
