I'm just curious why some people refer to common jersey cards as patches. It has always been my understanding that the patch is the sewn on thicker material piece of a jersey, i.e., a logo, number, nameplate, etc. However, I see people making posts like, "check out this patch card", when it is just a standard jersey swatch. I know it's no biggie, but it has always been a pet peeve of mine.
