Went to the shop yesterday, but just couldn't pull the trigger on a tin of Dominion hockey, too chancey IMO. they had recieved in a few boxes of a new product called OBAK football, I've seen the basebal version around for a few years, decided to give it a try.
now, the box advertises "11 HITS PER BOX!" which includes :
4 autos (one said to be a "cut auto")
2 parallel cards ( in this case, players in thier military uniforms)
1 mini-parallel card (parallel of the 1-per-pack mini cards)
3 short print cards
1 cabinet card box topper (these can be numbered and auto'd)
My box topper was Paul Hornung - "Hall of Famer & 1963 Bert Bell Award Winner". On the back of the card is a picture of Bert Bell, whom the award is named after, and numbered 13/50.
Other cards not scanned:
Maurice "Footsie" Britt - him in his officer's uniform
Dante Hall Green parallel - #08/25
Paul "Bear" Bryant Green parallel MINI - #06/25
Jack Chevigny Blue parallel - #3/5!
(WHO? - I'll tell you, this is the guy who TIED the Notre Dame / ARMY game after Knute Rockne gave his "Win one for the Gipper" speech.) That's just cool to me.
now, here's some scans :
Regular card - "Military short print" - Parallel of the sp.
And the autos :
Christian Okoye - 011/100
Dante Hall - 56/75
Bobby Douglass - 17/50
Bob Gain "Cut Signature" - 22/75
Gotta say, kinda neat "oddball" product.
