1998 Playoff Contenders Pennants Registered Exchange
#1

1998 Playoff Contenders Pennants Registered Exchange
Ok needing some info. Hopefully others have these cards too. My question is this. Is there 5 color versions to each Pennant in the Registered sets too? I know the Regular contenders set had 5 colors per player Orange, Red, Yellow, Blue and Green. I have an Orange and Green of One player wondering if I am missing the other 3 colors or if they were even made.
They look like this:

Looking for Hines Ward rookies (that I do not have), low numbered parallels and autos. Also, Bowman Chrome Baseball autos.
I normally send trades on Tuesday's and/or Friday's due to work.

I think thats the set Number. Like Set #9 of the 51 sets that were made. Wonder if every set had the same colors of cards made?

Allow me to help answer the question.

There were actually eight versions of these pennants printed, not including the registered exchange:

The six base colors are blue, red, yellow, green, orange, AND purple.

There is also a red foil parallel which is a little scarcer than the aforementioned six base cards. You will know one when you see one.

Lastly, there is a gold version which is #d to 98.

Now, those who completed the sets could send every one of their pennant cards in to Playoff and they would stamp each card with the same serial number. For instance, if your set was the eighth to get stamped every card in that set would be stamped "8". Supposedly 51 of these sets were stamped, hence this is why "supposedly" 51 of these sets exist.

One did not have to have every pennant of the same color either. Chances are a registered exchange card exists for all the pennant colors. It is mathematically possible that some of the six colors of some player cards were not stamped, but highly unlikely.

This is why it is very peculiar that two # 25 registered exchange cards exist for the same player. Jaderock I believe owns two Brunells that are also 25 and I think I remember seeing a guy selling other multiple "25s" on eBay not too long back. The most plausible explanation is that Playoff Corp made a stamping error so perhaps 52 instead of 51 different sets were stamped originally.

mine is from that seller with two number 25's, so mine is a green #d 25

I believe thats who I got mine from too. Didn't know about the Purple colored ones. have the other two the red and the gold.
Just took a look at Jaderocks site and he has eight different colors of the exchange cards:
1998 Playoff Contenders Pennants Blue Stamped Exchange #44
1998 Playoff Contenders Pennants Green Stamped Exchange #44
1998 Playoff Contenders Pennants Purple Stamped Exchange #44
1998 Playoff Contenders Pennants Orange Stamped Exchange #44
1998 Playoff Contenders Pennants Red Stamped Exchange #44
1998 Playoff Contenders Pennants Yellow Stamped Exchange #44
1998 Playoff Contenders Pennants Red Foil Stamped Exchange #44

Makes me wonder what other players have all the 8 cards also.
