I think you get more bang for your buck with platinum. Lineage is filled with mostly nobody auto's. What do you think?

I'd go BP
Platinum. Besides autos you could get value out of some the refractors too.

I would say BP. I have purchased 3 boxes and each has 4+ hits.
Box 1: Triple Auto Exchange: Heyward, Stanton, Brown 1 Blue Auto: Jimmy Paredes 2 Auto Rellics: Juan Francisco and Edwin Encarnacion (In same pack) 1 Base Auto: Jordan Swagerty Box 2: 1 Green Auto Exchange: Bret Eibner 1 Base Auto: Jameson Taillon 2 Auto Relics: Leo Nunez and Juan Miranda Box 3: Triple Auto Exchange: Posey, Mauer, Montero 1 Green Auto: Deck McGuire 1 Auto Relic: John Macdonald 1 Base Auto: Hector Noesi
I'd say go with BP.
BNjohnson, I bet that Paredes blue auto looks great.
As with anything, depends on what you like. You may consider the autos in Lineage nobodys, but really there are lots of retired players autos, not all big names but guys who were once well known. Also there are lots of nice parallels and stuff for player collectors of both past and current players. With platinum most autos are prospects. I would say those are the ultimate nobodys. If you dont mind risking the guys whose autos you pull never even making the major leagues, buy platinum. Heck, if you want big hits, buy Triple Threads. But it's not really a fair debate. It's like debating whether the Packers or the Red Sox are better. Far different products for far different tastes. I like both, but prefer Lineage. Even if you don't get a big hit in lineage you still get all those cards of classic players, along with fun inserts. With platinum you could end up with a bunch of nothing. But its a slick set for sure, I'm just wondering if they overproduced it this year. Autos are easy to pull. You can buy all of them but Harper for super cheap. even the green ones and relics are selling for 2 or 3 bucks apiece.
Always collecting Ozzie Smith! |
