Today, I decided to go into Wayne's again, because he had some vintage stuff on sale. He had large packages of them in bulk for really low prices. For a grand total of $45, I picked up a bunch of vintage lots and looking through them, I was quite surprised at the rookie crop I got in some of them.

The lot had some 1973-74 Topps with the following rookie:
(4X) Gilles Gilbert RC

The lot also had a bunch of 1974-97 Topps, no rookies from that though.

The lot had a bunch of 1976-77 Topps. Rookies I found from the year included:

Are they in mint shape, no! But you know what, I don't care because I am happy and a Messier rookie would have been enough for me to make me happy, but the rest is just icing on the cake!

73-74 Topps was the minority of the cards there. Unfortunately all I had were the Gilles Gilbert rookies and a card of Gary Smith. Too bad it's not the 76-77 set you're after, because I got a lot of those!

When I was in university I was starving and had to sell the 80-81 OPC set I put together for, if I remember correctly, about eighty bucks. Had a lead ball in my stomach about it. Still do. Cool on you for getting those cards!
