eBay sellers please look. Help needed

Question
eBay sellers please look. Help needed
Long story short I was approached on eBay asking if i would ship to Japan on one of my items. Personally i have no issue shipping there just never have and have no idea how to figure shipping costs so far out of my norm. Any suggestions or is there a standard rate you would normally apply to shipping out of country? Any help appreciated.

After you calculate make sure you click the blue bar on the bottom that says "First-Class Mail® International Options" because the prices that show up at first are ridiculous but that option is low prices. A 3 oz. large envelope with more then 1/4 inch thickness costs $3.46. Even cheaper if less then 1/4 inch. No problem.

Oh, and from personal experience, make sure u add full insurance & signature confirmation when shipping. When I used to ship overseas, every package that didnt have Ins or SC on it, I ALWAYS had problems. Now I require it everytime. It can be expensive but tack that xtra cost onto the shipping fees. Its well worth it imo.

i told the guy interested i would be factoring both those in there already. dont need negative feedback/botched sell on ebay just because i choose to ship overseas this one time.

I shipped a HUGE 20,000 card lot of MTG cards to Germany several years back and shipping was close to $400. ($200 higher than a calculator predicted)

good to know. maybe my best bet is to take it to the po and just ask.

Just remember it's the weight plus the size of the parcel that counts. Shipping from here in the UK to the US is just over £2 if I mail the cards in a small padded envelope. That counts as a "large letter". So it should be fairly cheap to Japan...around 3 bucks.

If you're mailing hundreds of cards then check before shipping so you know the buyer is willing to pay the extra cost!!
