at about 10:30 last night, i found out that darren daulton was doing a free autograph signing at a local sports bar until 11pm, for a yuengling promotion.
i was at my fiancee's house just 5 minutes away from the bar. last week we had gotten our engagement photos done at citizens bank park, and we had a baseball with our wedding date written on it for the pictures.
so she shoo'd me out the door and told me to go get the ball signed for her.
since i already have a few autographs of him, i didnt mind waiting in line to just get her an autograph, after all, i do pretty much anything and eveything for this girl.
so anticipating a big line, i get to the bar, and there was pretty much nobody in line. darren even had a stack of pictures to sign for people.

so i got him to sign the baseball, he even wrote "congratulations michelle' on it, and i got the picture signed for me, "to dutch" because coincidentally, darren daulton and i have the same nickname.

was a fun experience for me, i was hesitant to go at first, but i'm glad i went!

Its nice when you actually hear something good about someone from the 1993 team. Most have been miserable SOBs or scumbags. Dykstra is actually both. Congrats on getting the autograph and your engagement.

i was always under the impression that daulton was one of those miserable scumbags who wouldnt give anyone the time of day. it was nice to get the chance to meet him and realize he's actually a good dude. he took the time to conversate and joke around with everyone, even as his scheduled time was passing.
and yes, yuengling is america's oldest operating brewing company!
