RE: Jordan hamilton
Michael Jordan didn't draft Morrison. He wanted Rudy Gay, but the majority owners didn't listen to him because of his kwame brown pick.

OKC needs a guy that can guard the 3 and the 4 and I think Singler would have been a good edition to the bench. That guy was one of the most NBA ready players in the Draft. Sure his upside is not very high, but for a "contribution now" draft pick at the 24 spot, he would have made sense. |

RE: Jordan hamilton
MJ wasn't the majority owner back then. I read the draft analysis every year and I remember them saying MJ wanted Gay but wasn't trusted on making the pick by the organization.
People just assume MJ made that pick because he was there at the time and failed with Kwame, but he wanted Rudy Gay. (06-24-2011 05:33 PM)got watcha want Wrote: http://thehoopdoctors.com/online2/2010/1...-morrison/ |

RE: Jordan hamilton
As the Pistons GM (who by the way is my favorite player of all time, lol) this is what I see.
Under Contract: G: Ben Gordon - Personally, I still think he's got some. I think his 2009-10 season took a big hit because he had his first major injury of his career, and being someone who's messed up his ankle, it's just as much mental as it is physical. His 2010-11 season wasn't horrible, but with the turmoil of the coach, the expectations because of the previous season, and not having a set spot (Kuester couldn't make a steady lineup it seemed) I think it hurt his season some. But I want him to stay. G: Terrico White - Sorry, but even though he hasn't had a chance to play really, I think he needs to go. He's incredibly athletic, I think he'll be an awesome reserve in the NBA, but there's other guards I'd want to stay on the team. G: Will Bynum - Ugh, I'm torn on this one. But I like his story and I want him to stay. I also think he's probably more athletic than Terrico, I've seen him take over some games, I'd rather take a chance on him being the backup to Knight than Terrico. G/F: Richard Hamilton - I'm sorry, but even though he's been the big guy for many years, some of his actions last year were inexcusable if you ask me. Yeah, he's not the only one, but if he is the big guy, you don't do some of that stuff. I'm big on character, and his has seemed to be slipping. It could have been Kuester's fault, but I don't like the blame game. Thank you for your years RIP.F: Austin Daye - Keep, his ceiling still has room. He needs to bulk up, but if Prince were to leave, then he's the best replacement. F/C: Jason Maxiell - I love his drive, I do, but I'm not sure on him. I'll take him over Wilcox though. F/C: Ben Wallace - I want him to retire on the Pistons, and Greg still needs to learn more from him. F: Charlie Villanueva - I want him gone. He's got horrible character. C: Greg Monroe - Obviously keep, he has to learn from one of the best defensive players I've seen (I said one of the best, not the best). He just needs a different big to help him a little more with his scoring. ![]() Free Agents: G: Rodney Stuckey (restricted) - IF a new coach this year can't do anything with him, he needs to go if you ask me. The stats I read on an article about Stuckey showed how he played better after he had been disciplined. Does that mean he needs to be treated like a child or something? Plus, for the PG, he REALLY has to get his assists up. He's not Iverson in his prime, he's not going to get 33 a night and win the game with it on the line...if you ask me. G/F: Tracy McGrady - I'd like him to stay one more year, I think Arnie Kander still has some work he can do on him and there was a 7 game stretch where when McGrady was running the point (I wasn't fond of that fact) that we shot better, won 5 or 6 of those games, and the team had great morale. I think there's game still left in McGrady, and I think Arnie and Laimbeer (if he gets hired) can bring that out in him. F: Jonas Jerebko - KEEP!!!!!!!!! I so wish he wouldn't have got hurt last season. Him in tandem with Monroe and Daye I think can be close (not THAT close) to Durant, Westbrook and Harden. However, they all have to combine together to get close to Durant, lol. But two of them can stretch to the three point line, Jerebko and Daye can interchange the 4, Jerebko and Monroe can interchange the 5, and if need be, Daye can even run the point (I think he did that once last year). I so hope that Jerebko has a better come back from his injury than Don Reid did when he was with the Pistons. F: Tayshaun Prince - I really want to keep him. I think he should be the captain honestly. He's an extremely hard worker, has a very high basketball IQ, and I think the players respect him. F: DaJuan Summers - Undecided really. F/C: Chris Wilcox - Sorry, I think he's done in the NBA. So, with the draft picks, what would my team look like: Starters PG - Brendan Knight (yes, a rookie starting point) SG - Rodney Stuckey SF - Tayshaun Prince PF - Austin Daye C - Greg Monroe First Replacements PG - Will Bynum SG - Tracy McGrady SF - Kyle Singler PF - Jonas Jerebko C - Ben Wallace Unplayed/Third String Vernon Macklin Jason Maxiell DaJuan Summers (Undecided) Trades I'd think about Charlie Villanueva, Jason Maxiell and Richard Hamilton to the Mavericks for Tyson Chandler. Charlie Villanueva, Jason Maxiell to the Trail Blazers for Greg Oden (Yes, I said Oden). Richard Hamilton, Rodney Stuckey and Charlie Villanueva to the Heat for Udonas Haslem. Are these reasonable or possible? Probably not.

RE: Jordan hamilton
Brandon Knight was a fantastic pick for you. I felt he was the 3rd best player talent wise in the draft.
He should provide almost as much a what Billups did for the pistons. Same type of player. Rip Hamilton was being bought out I heard. The pistons aren't resigning Tayshaun Prince so work a sign and trade with him. Charlie V's contract is too big. He's a negative to take on unless you are the Lakers or Knicks that love spending money. |

Rip being bought out, ok, that's fine. V, I'm not sure what to say about him, but I definitely don't think his skills warrant a starting position and his attitude deserves some discipline (in the form of third string for the first few weeks). As for Prince, I wouldn't say they aren't resigning him just yet. If they are planning on buying out Rip, I have a hard time (not that it's impossible) that Joe (since we don't have a coach at this time) would feel comfortable with the remaining cast (without Prince) in terms of leadership. Joe has been very hard on Stuckey and even said something to the effect last year that that was Stuckey's last year to prove himself. Now, he might say it was Kuester and give him another chance, but if you ask me, he doesn't have to since we have Knight. If he wanted to, he could let Stuckey go and I don't think there'd be much of a problem there. While I do believe Billups has great skills, I personally wasn't a "Big Shot Billups" fan. I'm not a fan of people standing 10 feet behind the three point line with 8 seconds left down by 1 or two points, waiting until it gets to two seconds and then shooting a three 4 feet behind the line. Really? Yeah, he made a few of them, but if you ask me, he was thinking more about the AWE factor than he was about the game. 8 seconds left, get that ball inside. Try to get a layup or foul. And at that time, we had Sheed, McDyess, Ben Wallace, Jason Maxiell and Tayshaun Prince. There were many options to tie the game. And if we were down by three, shoot as soon as you're open, don't take the clock down so much. The reason I said all of that is because I don't want Knight to do the same thing, and if you ask me, Stuckey is starting to do that (I'm not blaming it on Billups). Stuckey is not an awesome shooter. He is fast, but he's not the fastest. He has made some awesome shots, but fewer than he's missed. I love his drive and determination at times (like the games when he averaged 25 PPG a game for 4 games after being disciplined), but it really seemed like he would get too "lazy" for lack of a better word. Some of his shots it looked like he was just throwing them up to shoot them. My idea of a PG is that he should have NO FEWER than 7 APG. His averages the last 4 years: 2.8, 4.9, 4.8, 5.2. Also, from the games I did see (and I didn't get to see them all because I'm too cheap for League Pass and I live in GA), it didn't look like he used his driving ability to create opportunities for the outside shooters. And we have some outside shooters (but we shouldn't always shoot outside). But if he did that 3-4 times more a game, that allows him more leeway when he drives to the basket, because he's a threat to pass. Out of all of this, I'm pretty much just saying he isn't a PG, he's an SG if you ask me. And I just realized a mistake I made on my roster. I forgot to put Ben Gordon on there. I think he should be coming off the bench for 25 minutes a game in the SG position. At NO POINT should he be running the ball. Bynum, Knight and sometimes Stuckey should be the only ones running the ball. (06-24-2011 09:45 PM)b33rman Wrote: xstreaminsanity lol.
