starts tomorrow. Any thoughts? heard any names of likely top picks?
Who will be the next Harper, Belt, Posey, Pineda, or Goldschmidt?

RE: So the MLB draft
Gerrit Cole, I hope, for the Pirates sake
Collect Andrew McCutchen, Roberto Clemente and most current/vintage Pirates. Some Braves Dynasty like Maddux, Klesko, Javy & Chipper.

RE: So the MLB draft
Tons of former pro players sons will be drafted. No Harpers or Stras but a good class.

RE: So the MLB draft
Gerrit Cole, Bubba Starling, Anthony Rendon, Dylan Bundy,, Matt Barnes, Sonny Gray are just a few.... Its a very deep draft with no clear top 5 players so your team (ie. The Mets) can still get someone good later in the first round. A lot of the guys that will be drafted have been on Team USA and already have cards out.

RE: So the MLB draft
I don't really see anyone that I think will make a huge splash in the majors. There are a couple pitchers who could make decent relievers but no major offensive guys IMO.
Just looking through the scouting reports there are a lot of guys who are injured or are just coming off injuries so that right there isn't a really good sign that at this young age so many of them are dealing with injuries. |

RE: So the MLB draft
The two UCLA pitchers have been very good -- Cole last year and Bauer this year.
Hitters with potential, to me (and many others), are Bubba Starling and Anthony Rendon. In my mind, there really isn't a Harper/Strasburg-type this year, though the UCLA guys have been forceful in the past. RE: So the MLB draft
The Mariners have the 2nd pick and need a 3rd baseman for the future. We're stuck with Figgins at 3rd right now with no one to bring up from AAA. I'd take my chances with Rendon if I were them.
