New to this my question is what is the difference if the box of McFarlane figures has the toys r us sticker on it or not

are you talking about Toys R Us EXCLUSIVE pieces.....? ones only sold by them? or simply ones with TRU prices tags on them?

nope...that is just a pricing label and has no bearing on the price sold for to collectors. you will find many with the TRU price tags on them since they sold a lot of them back in the day.
