Where else would he go? He could still sign a contract with another company to sign other non-card memorabilia, which would likely include a clause that he couldn't sign for anyone else. As to the cashing in on Harper, when you have idiots like us collectors willing to pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for a piece of cardboard, why would you NOT do everything in your power to cash in? Don't be mad at the companies, it's ourselves that the fingers should be pointed towards. MODERATOR ![]() Click on banner for photobucket link. |

RE: Are you serious?
He has signed concerning his likeness and signature, no doubt, which MLB cannot own. So MLB gives Topps the rights to make licensed cards, without having Harper signed with Topps, they could lose out on tons by having him sign with another company to use his picture and auto and still make money off him desipite being unlicensed.

RE: Are you serious?
Who cares if their stock is publicly traded? Either way, they are a for-profit company whose goal is to make money.

UD still makes autograph cards, even without their MLB license, because I think they still have their MLBPA license or something like that, alex

RE: Are you serious?
I like minor league cards. I enjoy the excitement of not being all familiar with the player and then picking some to follow to see their journey play out. I did not care for Heritage so much this year, but THIS version of Heritage interests me.

RE: Are you serious?
I do find it kind of odd that they used the Heritage design but I find them much more attractive than minor league sets of the past (that I can recall anyway).
