NHL discipline is a JOKE
The Bruins get away with another one. I think Cambell should be re-assigned. It's obviously not working to have the head of discipline's kid playing in the league.
Ference will receive NO supplementary discipline for a DIRTY DIRTY late hit 50 feet away from the play. Here is the story: http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Hockey/NHL/Pla...78661.html I guess since the Habs got eliminated last night, who cares, right? Currently Collecting Patrick Roy, PK Subban and Carey Price. My Bucket http://s1093.photobucket.com/albums/i427/adamslogik2/ |

RE: NHL discipline is a JOKE
i think he's 1/2 right, 1/2 bitter. we really should put these threads in the "sports talk" forum instead of the "hobby talk" one.

NHL discipline is a JOKE
Suspended for a hit on a player who came back 2 minutes later in the game....I don't think so. Same goes for Lucic cause I am assuming you are refering to that as the "other one". Spacek came back in that game so why the suspensions?
He was trying to get a call like so many other times in this series, a great example is when hamrlik went down then kelly scored the third goal. ![]() Collecting: Casey Wellman, Brandon Tate, UMass Alum, along with the gu ys in my sig. |

It makes the SPORT look like a joke. This kind of thing is why hockey is not taken as seriously as other sports such as football, baseball, basketball. I know that he recuses himself, but he then assigns a guy who works for him to deal with it. I mean, COME ON, would you rule against your boss' sons team? I don't care if Campbell was in the position before his son came into the league, once it hapenned, he should have been reassigned. As far as this thread being in the wrong section, sorry, my bad, I didn't even realize we had another hockey forum (which I checked out and now realize). if a MOD wants to move it, that would be awesome. I love that the bruins fans were saying that you can't suspend a player based on the severity of the injury when the Chara incident hapenned, but now we shouldn't suspend guys UNLESS the player geting hit is put on the shelf. Hmmm... Kind of hypocritical. Currently Collecting Patrick Roy, PK Subban and Carey Price. My Bucket http://s1093.photobucket.com/albums/i427/adamslogik2/ |

Please explain how Halpern was trying to do this. He was obviously looking up the ice (where the play and the officials were) so he could see that no official was watching and prepared to call a penalty when he got hit. (evidenced by the fact neither official saw it) As for Hamrlik, my daughter and myself were also confused as to why Hamrlik stayed down and complained after the goal UNTIL we saw the replay (did you miss that STICK JABBING HIM IN THE NECK?) Yeah, that was another GREAT example. TRY AGAIN!!! Looking for Habs Seq#'d 24/xxx MY BUCKET MY TRADEPAGE

If it wasn't for that over half the people probably wouldn't even watch hockey. It likes Goodell trying to baby football. Hockey will never be like other other three big sports in America for obvious reasons. But in Canada hockey is the #1 sport. Let the guys hammer each other out there. RE: NHL discipline is a JOKE
Chara should have been suspended, I never said he shouldn't have so don't put words in my mouth. As for Halpern why was he even near Ference in the first place...just skate away but no he skated right into him and looked away, then stayed down had the trainer come out and then returned two minutes later. I just watched that replay and idk how you can say he wasnt skating right into Ference. Ference didnt extend his arm or shoulder, they just ran into each other cause halpern turned his head as he ran into ference. I think its clear that nothing severe happened there anyway as the gwg went in off of halpern. And I also watched the Kelly replay...yeah the stick went up but if you dont hear the whistle why are you on the ground...get up and play. Its game 7, stick came up on the hit, they arnt gonna call that, but they gave you the wisniewski make up call anyway on which you tied it on a absolute rocket from Subban. You want more examples, ok.
Subban flops after grabbing onto campbells stick, wisniewski (sp?) embelishing that bergeron high stick for the tying goal, from my angle he did not touch him, price diving in game 6 for goalie interference, lucic game misconduct and then spacek returns. NHL players even said that was a little much. Worth a two minute, but 5 and thrown out, come on. How about those calls, they good enough or you got excuses for them as well? Because I watch every hockey game i can and for some reason the diving is much more noticable when teams play the habs. Obiviously Bergeron shouldn't have been checking wisniewski like he did, but still and embelishment.
