Card Show Pick Ups!!!!
Hey, I went to the card show in Syracuse today. Good selection of modern and vintage stuff. Here is what I got -- all for $75

First is a couple of Cardinals RCs. The Wilks means a lot to me since my grandfather played with him while they were teenagers. The best part of this is that I was at the show with my wife and dad. My dad was sentimental (my grandfather died about 15 years ago) and my wife learned a little bit about the baseball history in my family Smile It is a 1949 Bowman

The next is a 1950 Bowman RC of Bill Howerton:

I also got a Dal Maxvil RC:

Also picked up some nice Red Schoendienst. A 1956 Topps and a 1954 Bowman. They are in pretty good shape:

And now for my Ken Boyer PC -- a 1956 Topps, a 1958 Topps, and 1965 Topps:

I know this is a vintage forum, but I ended my visit with a bang: A 2001 Bowman Pujols RC. This brings my total number of Pujols to 450 different cards. Not a bad way to end the day:

Very nice, I love the early Bowmans.

Interested in EX-MT or better pre-'56 Cardinals, '53 Bowman Color & '74-'78 Topps.

RE: Card Show Pick Ups!!!!
This is a neat thread. I love the cards you picked up, and the connection to your grandfather. My grandfather played with Early Wynn when they were in the Army. Wynn was the team's manager and played; my grandpa was the catcher. I still laugh when I think of my grandpa telling me stories about playing with Wynn. I think the phrase he used most when telling me about him was, "no good SOB." I don't think my grandpa was a big fan of Wynn's, so I'll stick to collecting my favorites! Great memories, though, and I love to hear about others' memories of their loved ones like yours. Thanks for sharing, and bringing back another great memory oft grandfather while you were at it!

Collect Kirk Gibson (Tigers), Lou Whitaker, Alan Trammell, Jack Morris (Tigers), Lance Parrish (Tigers), Sparky Anderson (Tigers), Tom Brookens (Tigers), as well as earlier Tigers greats like Al Kaline, Norm Cash, Mickey Lolich, Willie Horton, etc.
