To all the Panini haters out there....
I'll be clean and polite, but... pul your heads out of the proverbial. None of you seem to have the facts straight nor do you wish to listen to anything that goes against your little whine sessions. First of all, Panini did not force Upper Deck and Topps out of the NBA market - those two companies chose not to renew their license with the NBA. So therefore, Upper Deck and Topps ditched the NBA. If any of you paid attention to all of the news regarding this - which Beckett reported regularly early January 2009, you would know this. Secondly, Panini is not a new company. They have been in business since the early 1960's in Europe. They originally started producing stickers sets and Albums for both European and English Soccer leagues. Panini entered the NBA market with international sticker and album sets in the late 1980's and stopped in 1996. They have been producing cards for European sports for the last 12 years. Just ask the European collectors (Folkertino, WillC) - they will back this up. Folkertino can even provide scans of cards as extra proof. As to their operations through PaniniAmerica? Well, put yourself in their shoes. Panini wanted to come back to the NBA as a third string competitor in the local market - keeping their US productions seperate from their European/international ones. The two companies they would be competing against pull out of the market (voluntarily, mind you) before the offer they had been present had been reviewed by the NBA Board of Directors. Thanks to this and their purchase of DonrussPlayoffLP, Panini is now in three sports (four now with hockey) far sooner than expected and are left with commitments forced on them by pre-existing Donrussplayofflp licenses. Then they change offices. Realistically, how would you cope? And don't give me the rational "I'm a customer.I'm right" speil. Try being the manager/CEO of a major company with all of these hassles for once.
If you wish to see the articles I alluded to, simply ask the moderators or Beckett. Perhaps they might even re-post them. As to a monopoly... a monopoly only occurs when one company forces the opposition out or buys them out. This has not happened here. Also... 1948 - Bowman 1957-58 Topps 1961-92 - Fleer 1969-1982 - Topps 1983-1986 Star Co. 1986/87-1988-89 - Fleer. Were those monopolies? ![]() Collect Patrick Ewing, Jalen Rose, Kevin Garnett, LaMarcus Aldridge, Jeff Green if you have less than 25 trades, I will ask you to send first. |

So therefore, Upper Deck and Topps ditched the NBA. not true, not true the NBA decided to go with the norm and only go with one manufacturer as the provider of basketball cards, and chose not to renew Upper Deck, and Topps contracts, just like in football, baseball and Hockey.I personally think that the NBA ruled against Upper Deck because of the counterfeiting conviction, they received for counterfeiting yu-gi-oh cards, so if they are willing to do that with yu-gi-oh, who knows what they might do or have done with sports cards. Also, Upper Deck was not paying the players for autograph signings, as well as not paying the photographers for taking the pictures, for any sport. And the lawsuit that MLB won against Upper Deck for producing Baseball cards, when they were not allowed too, and for stealing Topps designs (O-Pee-Chee) also was against them. However Taff, if you will notice the ones doing the complaining about Panini, are also the same ones that whined and complained about Upper Deck, when they did produce cards. the bucket http://postimage.org/Shez WANTED: 2006 FLAIR SHOWCASE SIGNATURES #/35 |

RE: To all the Panini haters out there....
I hate Panini because their customer service sucks and they suck at redemptions, I have legit proof on these accounts.
I like their cards and their products, but their customer service side of it is disgraceful. Avoid madhatter74! The rudest and most unreasonable members I have EVER met on these boards! If you do not have more than 25 trades, you are sending first! Or else, sorry! |

RE: To all the Panini haters out there....
I have to say they suck too. I mean a year and I still have no update on some of my high-end redemptions. They could've come up with a comparable card by now. I asked for a replacement like 3 months ago. Send me a couple packs of cards just to hold me over, let me know you care, break off a consumer a lil' somethin, somethin.

RE: To all the Panini haters out there....
I'll reserve my decision on Panini until after I get my redemptions or replacements. If I do need to ask for replacements they better end up being hall of famers because all 3 of my redemptions are hofers.
****TRADING FOR AND BUYING UNSCRATCHED, EXPIRED AUTOGRAPH REDEMPTIONS FROM ANY UPPER DECK PRODUCTS (INCLUDING FLEER, ETC.) MUST BE FROM ONE OF THE FOUR MAJOR SPORTS**** |

Again...you need to get some facts straight. Panini continued producing NBA sticker sets through the 1999-2000 season (I have checklists and stickers of them all!)! They have bene producing stickers for European sports since the 1970s! Olympic sports, All Sports, Soccer (mainly) and a ton of other stuff (movies, disney, comics, cars, celebs, and all sorts of things. I would guess maybe close to 50-100 different sticker sets a year!). Panini first did CARDS in 1994 if I recall, with the French basketball teams. They were the main distributers for Int'l Fleer (Jam Session for example). The also partnered with UD-Int'l in the late 90s for printing/production of the UD/UDCC sticker sets in 1997 and 1998. Collecting Michael Jordan, Stockton/Malone/Hornacek/Eaton, Kresimir Cosic, Int'l oddballs! I specialize in hard to find oddities for player/team collectors eBay Geonut (27,500+ items!!!) RE: To all the Panini haters out there....
My response will be the same as it was on the other thread...Please call Panini and ask them a question, ANY question at all, and you will see for yourself what complete MORONS they are!!! I told the girl that I talked to today, that when I was making my missing hit request, it froze, so i clicked "submit request" again. For some reason it made 2 requests, so I asked the girl if she could delete the 2nd request as it was not needed. She said she could do this...well just checked...and you guessed it..SHE DIDNT DELETE IT!!!! The most simple thing I possibly could have asked her do do and she couldn't even do that!!! I will NEVER buy another Panini product ever again!!!
On top of this, CEO's of major companies deal with these kind of problems REGULARLY!!! That is NO excuse to have poor customer service! When running a business, you have to learn to cope with unexpected changes and problems. CLEARLY this is something Panini can NOT do! http://s1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc471/kylel0926/ Want: Dwight Howard Autos, Patches & RC Refractors, RC Autos of Cousins, Greg Monroe, Derozan, Harden, Jrue Holiday, any other STAR Autos! |

The end of sports card collecting for Klarson.. news just in.. panini buys out the rights to produce cards for all major sports backed by billionaire Mikhail Dmitrievitch Prokhorov ( or if you might know him as the nets owner). Panini will make a major push in all sports for fall of 2012.. also the year the world will end!! Always knew it would be a damn russian involved with not only taking over my beloved sports card collecting hobby but dipping his hands into the end of the world. Personal Collections are as follows : 1) Knicks (anyone who has worn the jersey at one time or another and made a significant impact on the team.) 2) Latrell sprewell 3) Amare Stoudemire 4) Carmelo Anthony 5) Steve Nash 6) Chauncey Billups |
