I like base cards, especially from sets like '97 and '99 Bowman Chrome. When I'm opening those packs, I don't like to see any inserts unless they're rookie refractors.

I don't really like the design of the 2010 Bowman base set. Since it can't include 1st year prospects that aren't in their rookie year, it would be nice if they did something rookie card related with the base set. Something like the '91 Stadium Club backs that pictured their rookie card. Adding some subsets as a part of the base wouldn't hurt either. Something like a rookie highlights or painted future star set.

I still like many of the base cards and "normal" inserts without all the 1/1 auto refractor variations. I'm not against these new aged inserts, but it just makes it harder to collect, me being a player collector.

I know what you mean. I've been thinking about collecting a certain player, but don't like alot of inserts. I like to know that its possible to get every card on my want list. I think I'm going to start an 80s McGwire collection.
