Should be an interesting race on Sunday. Very windy conditions are being forecast for the race. Wind gusts of 30 MPH could cause some unexpected action. I hope this isn't going to affect the drivers/cars as much as I think it will, but... you never know.

I wish I could go to the race since it is the closest current track to me. I could probably get there in an hour and a half, maybe less. Charlotte is about 2 hrs away and Darlington and Bristol are about 3 hrs away. One day (well, several days) I will make it to all of these tracks. Enjoy the race everyone!

I always like watching the races at Martinsville. I too wish I could make it to a Sprint Cup race as I've never been to one. I'm considering trying to make it to the race at Kansas or Chicago, but I'm not sure yet. Both are about 2 1/2 hrs away and if gas is upwards of $4/gal, that won't happen.

slufan83, when you go to your first race, NASCAR will be a whole different thing to you then. My first race was here in Phoenix. What made it a little different for me was, I got married at the track, in front of the track bar, on the stage where the band plays. But just hearing the cars start up and seeing them do the pace laps and then the start of the race, GOD was it SO COOL. Of course, Jimmie Johnson won the race and the championship at that race. All he had to do in FL. was start his engine and hes was the champion again.
But to walk around with all of the fans, talk to a lot of them. See everything that is going on. Buying stuff from your drivers trailer and the fumes from the cars, HUMMMMM....LOL, then there is the tailgating, that is something in it's self.
Just go to a race and you will look at NASCAR all together different, trust me.

Well thanks for making me want to go that much more haha! Gateway is actually only about 45min from me, but I want to save my first Nascar experience to be a Cup race. I've been watching since I was just a little kid, but have just never gone to a race. I grew up watching with my dad and we were big Rusty Wallace and Mark Martin fans. It's a shame we couldn't make it to one before he passed away back in 2005.

Yeah, but Mark Martin is still driving. Trust me you will Love a live race. It is the best thing in the sports world to go to.

Yes. There are only about a dozen of us though. I check in almost daily. Who do you collect?
