Selling entire Collection
I've been collecting since 85', have some cards earlier than those. I have spent hours cataloging them in Beckett's database. Value is a little over 3000 (Beckett). Will sell for 1500 and you pay for the shipping of these boxes. Right now there are 3 large boxes of them; properly packed, figure on 5. Will kick in all the hockey cards and NASCAR I have as well, guessing around 1000, including signature Dale E and J Gordon, alot of gold signature hockey players as well. Will also throw in Michael Jordan rookie card and plaque. I figure you guys collect them so why not ask here before I list on eBay or take down to a card dealer.

My dad has fallen ill and is expected to move on within a week, looking to have this transaction done quickly so we can get there to see him. You get a great deal, I get to do what I gotta do.

Also, I dont know how to link the catalog of cards that is included and if anyone can let me know it would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

Sincerely,

J B Smith

RE: Selling entire Collection
Sorry about your situation. But to be realistic 10-20% if your lucky. Sounds like a lot of 80's-90's. With that you would be lucky around 5-10%. Selling a collection as a whole you really take a hit.

RE: Selling entire Collection
+1 to above. half book value is extremely optimistic unless 90%+ of your collection is key rookie cards, high end inserts, and almost nothing but rare items....

if you are selling and unloading in bulk and quickly with 80s-90s stuff I wouldn't expect a lot ;(

RE: Selling entire Collection
I have to agree with the threads above. I work part time at a card shop and we don't buy anything for more than 15%-20% and if it's cards from the 80's and 90's we don't purchase. Your best bet is to take the autos etc etc to a card shop and try and sell them there or try the threads on here for those types of things. With today's economy and gas prices most places are reluctant to buy anything. Break the collection down and put your best foot forward and see what you can get.

RE: Selling entire Collection
i hope your situation with your dad improves, but there's no way your going to sell a bunch of 80s and 90s commons for even 10%of bv. The only cards ppl want from that time are rcs, and they don't even sell that well. good luck to you though, hope it works out for you
