And if you are a new member yourself, then DON'T trade with other new members! Make a bunch of trades with legitimate traders to build your reputation.
Great advice in a perfect world. But it really boils down to if some one wants your stuff and vice versa. And if not and it don't follow those rules then you don't trade so your left out in the cold. =( Better than being scammed though for sure! =)

That's a REAL big headache and will involve dealing with the CC company. But honestly all these trade problems can be dealt with by Beckett THRU this site and not involve anyone but this site alone. But it will take more time and doing and i'm not really sure Beckett has the time, resources, or even cares.

Hey Floyd is there a way they beckett could do kinda like pay pal where you can confirm an address i think that could help with this problem we are having with these people creating new account every time you ban them. Dont know if it possible and still think that new members should send first it just a respect thing but at least if you had to confirm and address these people couldnt keep making fake new ever other day.

PS you do a great job catching these scammers THANK YOU.

and one more thing i told you i have 10 confirmed trades on XXXXXXX in are pm's i can post them here if you want.

Mod Edit (XstreamINsanity): While it is understood that people do use other avenues to trade, please don't mention them on the boards. Nothing major, we just like to keep competitor information off of Beckett. Thanks.

I don't know if many people use one, but that kind of wouldn't work for people who use P.O. boxes. Let the month run out, get a new one, start over again. I mean, it's still the same city, but even then, some bigger cities have multiple post offices and could get away with it.

Also, while Beckett is a company that services people across the world, it is nothing compared to Pay Pal and I don't think (would love to be wrong in this case) Beckett would have the money or the lawyers to put something like that into place. I think Pay Pal can do it because it deals strictly with money and even has some credit card type services, so they fall under something different than trading cards. But like I said, I'd love to be wrong. Smile

And to answer someone else's question, us mods cannot check addresses, but if you PM us addresses, even before a trade (it's not illegal to ask for an address before a trade, would seem skeptical though) we'll check it against our lists and have Beckett employees check banned users.

RE: USER: lollistar legit?
Good catch floydtown and I bet your right.

Funny that niether of these guys have posted since we called out whoever started this thread as well as the trader in question.

The football and the baseball boards move much faster and I could see scammers pulling this stunt there, but here in the basketball forum there are fewer traders and a smaller group of regulars.

Bring it on scamers, I think most of us regulars are on high alert since the jkligman saga started and since bjwarranty went bad. The amount of new members since the site migration had me worried from the beginning.

AGAIN NEW MEMBERS DON"T TRADE WITH NEW MEMBERS, some new member has to send first and that could be the scammer for all either trader knows.
