RE: "Go to collection" after "Add to Organize"
The new way is very annoying and at least doubles the time that it takes to add cards and manage inventory. If I add 50 cards to organize I want to click one button and then just have those 50 cards pop up so I can adjust quantities owned. It wasn't that hard before. I don't understand why it is so difficult now.

I don't understand why it is so difficult now. This is a bit of a nuisance. It's just an extra step. How I have dealt with it is I have created a dummy collection like some others have mentioned. I call it "1 Purgatory" because they are cards in limbo before ending up in their final collections and putting a "1" first lets my organize default to that folder each time I add cards. You can call your collection whatever you want. After I've added my cards, I go to my Purgatory collection, mark them all Haves and Wants at once and then Move to their final collections. Make sure to Move and not Add. that will remove them from my Purgatory collection and I am done and the cards end up where I intended them to be. Hope this helps. ![]() My Huge Wantlist: http://www.zeprock.com/WantList.html |

RE: "Go to collection" after "Add to Organize"
i dont understand why folks dont fathom the idea of having 2 tabs open at 1 time: 1 on organize, 1 on search. no extra steps needed.
this isnt a problem of site redesign, but of user learning curve Project Cupid, March 9th: raised 17k+ for cancer research. 60k over the past 4 years

RE: "Go to collection" after "Add to Organize"
I appreciate all of the responses and I do understand what you guys are saying.
The problem I have with the new system is that cards I have already added to Organize do not show, even if I create a dummy collection. If I add 50 cards, but I already had 3 in Organize, then only 47 show up in the dummy collection or recently added, etc. This makes it hard to keep track of quantities. I don't want to have to search for every card to see if it's already added from before. It was so much easier to add 50 cards, click "go to organize" and see just those 50 cards whether the quantities owned is zero for new cards or 5 or 6, etc, so that I can adjust as needed. Even with multiple windows open it takes twice as much work. Maybe an easy way is there, I just don't see it. |

I got into the habit of putting all my cards into a folder "Recently Added", prior to moving them to their final locations. Now I've gotten into the habit of adding brand new cards, then going back and adding duplicates. Unfortunately for me this has become alot more time consuming then before. If somehow they could change it back to how it was I would love it. If not then i will have to try to find a quicker way to enter duplicates. It's easy if i have a handful or from the same set. But most of the time its one or two from random sets here and there. Also is there an easy way to do a mass remove from a collection. How I have done it now was i just clicked on the x near the tag name. Very time consuming, but effective. THanks Manny |

I agree that this could be tweaked to be more user-friendly. We've got a long list of such items that we plan on forwarding to the developers once they are done rolling out all of the new stuff, and this is on it. As far as the mass removing from a collection - this may or may not work for you, but one short cut I've found is that you can use the trash can to 'scrub' the collections from a card, and then re-move the cards back to the collection you want them to stay in. For example - I just made a big trade with about 50 cards on each side. So now the cards are in both my 'recently traded' folder and they still have the tag for my 'for trade' collection. I want to keep them in my recently traded collection until the trade is done on both sides, but I want to remove them from the 'for trade' collection. 1. Make sure your trash is empty 2. Move all the cards to your trash. This will remove all associated collections with the cards. 3. Go into trash and move them all back to 'Recently Traded.' Since you can move multiple cards in one step, this is usually faster than clicking on the 'x' one by one. As far as the other issue, I agree with what a lot of the other posters have stated - create a "TEMP" dummy collection that you add all cards to first, then edit data and move to their final resting place. Not an ideal solution for sure, but it works pretty well until they can get it upgraded. MODERATOR ![]() Click on banner for photobucket link. |
