It's been a while so I need some advice haha
Hey everyone. It's been a while since I've been collecting hockey cards and was wondering if you guys could tell me what the best brands are to be buying nowadays? I assume that the Spx are still pretty good. I just bought a box of 2009-2010 Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey cards. Not much in it... I got a Drew Stafford and a Steve Schutt UD Game Jersey card, Ovechkin Face of the Franchise and a few Young Guns whom I've never really heard of other than Artem Anisimov.
I appreciate everybody's time and help. Thanks everyone for your input. Dan ![]() Go Pens Go! |

Just a heads up, you can not "advertise" your or any ebay listings on here. So you need to edit that so you don't get in trouble.
SPx is a great box. You can check the checklist on UpperDecks website. You can never fail with regular Upper Deck, Series One or Two. Hall, Eberle, and Subban are in One. Seguin, Paarvji, and Omark are in Two. ![]() http://s613.photobucket.com/albums/tt215...ynick1721/ |

Thanks for the heads up. I feel like an idiot. Guess I should've read more about policy's before I started posting on here.
Thanks for the input as well. ![]() Go Pens Go! |

All products are hit and miss, it all just depends on how much you are looking to spend.
I am a big fan of anything ITG, they seem to treat the collector right. ![]() Collecting Patrick Roy |

Its is all the same over priced stuff. I just cracked 19 boxes of Crown Royale and my best hit was a Tavares auto jersey numbered out of /25. Not one rookie to write home to mom about. The prices are all still inflated and the hits seem to be farther and few between. Couple that with a diminished market and I am stumped to figure out why wax is still priced so high. Panini has tried with a couple of decent products this year including Certified and Limited. Had it not been for a very good crop of Rookies this year who knows what would have happend to the business this year. I do agree that UD1 and UD2 are always a safe bet for decent return on investment, but after that its a crap shoot. Stay far away from the way over priced SPGU, it will eat you up and spit you out bad! Just my opinion so do not beat up the writer too bad! |

I really think that sometimes wax gets kind of territorial in the way it gets distributed. Saw it in 2005 when Spx came out and there seemed to be a lot of Ovy's and Crosby's pulled in our neck of the woods. I know people have always said if you pull a good or rare players card you should go back and buy the rest of that case. I saw a guy pull 2 Micheal Jordans autos in a basketball product a few years ago numbered out of /25 from the same case. Of course after I had bought half the case first, lol! For me not to have a sniff of Hall, Eberle,Seguin, Skinner, etc. is weird. I bought from two seperate stores and I got a lot of the same cards. I know stores buy from different dists. but I just seem to see a pattern. My latest one and it was a very good one was pulling 4 Crosby's out of 12 Limited packs including 2 Material Monikers auto jerseys numbered out of 25. Has anyone else seen a trend at all? |
