RE: First 2 Boxes 2010 National Treasures...Not Bad
Not impressed enough with the 2 box break to spend that much on a pack of cards, but I really like the NFL Gear cards. Even the 1-color cards have a little more appeal than most 1-clr's do. Congrats on the Reebok patch cards, the T. Price, Jim Taylor, and the Ray Rice cards as well as the redemption--if you get it. I really hope you do (as well as all the others you've been waiting on).
I really miss SPx! I also miss seeing great (or even good) looking inserts/'hits' come in a box that has great looking base cards (especially Crown Royale, Finest, Certified and any Sterling product). Heck, at this point, I even miss UD Icons.
Also, I thought Tracy Hackler was going to show up on here from time-to-time to fill us in on what Panini is doing. I guess he decided to avoid us b/c Panini isn't getting any better with him being there. I'd rather he come back to Beckett to do the box break vids than stay there in what seems to be a slowly sinking ship. Panini seems to get worse with every (delayed) release. Sorry for my rant everyone. I am just getting so sick of seeing where this hobby is going/has gone in the past year or so.

Always looking for: Ozzie Smith/Stan Musial/Lou Brock/STL Cardinals, NFL-CAR/GB/NE and NASCAR-Jimmie Johnson/Mark Martin

I understand your frustration. I'm not sure hijacking my thread though is the right spot. Remember, I'm the guy whose pocketbook was affected by these breaks. No one knows the pain more than I. In fact I mentioned it earlier.

Part of the appeal in doing box breaks is not only to show off a person's good fortune. It's also to give fellow collectors insight into the bad products as well. I have never read an evaluation by Beckett's that called a product out. I understand why they don't. It's just if it is a collector's magazine and site, there should be honesty and not a fear the card companies will stop playing ball with them.

No high end product is really worth the price. As a collector, I expect the companies to stop insulting our intelligence with some of the stuff put out.

The hobby will right itself eventually. As a collecting community, we have to be united in addressing our concerns instead of letting a few vocal few get their voices out and get ignored.

I wasn't trying to hijack your thread. I thought you had a pretty good break on the 1st one. I was just saying that these boxes/packs have too high of an SRP to warrant some of what I see coming out of them. I don't think every break should be absolutely terrific, but I am tired of seeing horrible breaks by people who spent a LOT of money and still didn't get anything nice out of it.

Try $450+/pk on avg., really dont like the single color jerseys and the base design, Panini said this was their "sweet nectar," but its pretty tired looking. Grats on the double tag pulls though, nice cards.

You hit the nail on the head with the sticker autos, particularly with such a late releasing product, and in comparison to Upper Deck's SPA, which is all on card, with few redemptions.

I always appreciate the honesty of breaks, for better or worse, they serve as a warning to others of the danger or joy of a box break. Thanks again for posting this box break, it gives us all a good sampling of what this product contains, from each end of the spectrum, in order to make a more informed decision based on it.

RE: First 2 Boxes 2010 National Treasures...Not Bad
Thought I'd bump this up for fellow collectors during the week. I didn't see many NT breaks over the weekend on the boards.

Interestly, I listed a couple of cards from the 2nd break on line this weekend. When comparing the responses to those I received when listing the cards from my Five Star break (minus 1 or 2 cards for the PC), I found a more immediate response to Five Star's listing.

I guess there's somethng to be said about on-card autos.

This had to be the crappy box in the case. Of course, for the price, a box should never be packed like this. Both boxes came from seperate cases.

The Rice is a prime patch #2 of 15.

The Dan Williams is numbered to 25.
The final 2 autos.....

In my opinion....a dumpster box that was put together by someone who doesn't know much about football or the hobby.

Your first box was great, the second one more like my break. I think they came from the same dumpster.
The logo auto's should have ya pretty happy.

Dang couldn't even quote this. Too many images..Must be a new thing to keep sizes down. First I've seen of it.

If you want to trade, I need DC and a padded mailer at a minimum. Rarely do I collect or trade for anything other than Bengals/Jaguars and some Cowboys.
